I’ve been organizing for social justice for about 8 years. I’ve always been interested in how I fit into world systems and passionate about working for change in whatever way that I can.
At the University of California, Santa Cruz, I studied Feminist Studies and participated in various campus campaigns. I helped organize many educational projects and direct actions. I participated in teach-ins and other social change forums. I was involved with counter-recruitment actions at campus career fairs, direct actions at Regent meetings, and a university-wide service worker strike.
I was a TA for Introduction to Feminisms and I co-facilitated a class through the Education for Sustainable Living Project called “Sustainable Planet in the Nuclear Age: UC and the Bomb.” I was an intern for the Inside-Out Writing Project in which I facilitated creative writing and art workshops in the local women’s jail.
Since college, I have focused on studying and working around issues of eco-feminism and sustainability. I have a particular interest in organizing towards sustainable science and community collaboration in adapting to climate change. Over the past year, I’ve been teaching myself green building skills and working on community building through a local crafts co-operative.
I look forward to working with everyone!

What are you eating this week?
Thanks for this post, Ken!
Making a point to cut meat out of our diets can definitely lead to some creative nutrition. For last weekend’s labor day bar-b-q I made up some tasty vegetable skewers and grilled tempeh.
