Job #1: Web Designer / Interaction Designer
The Point is looking for an experienced designer with a thorough understanding of UX, IxD, IA and visual communication to help evolve our award-winning platform for group action.
You should be adept at translating raw ideas into clear, efficient, and beautiful designs. We work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, with design playing a role at all stages of the process - from concept brainstorming, to prototyping, wireframing, comping, user testing and development.
You should also be well-versed with modern, web-based technology and social media.

How we work together
The Point is a highly collaborative environment. Typically, we all work from the office because we think that we work better when we're together. Our whole team -- business and technology -- eats lunch together at least three times a week to discuss aspects of the site and the business.
We try and eliminate any barriers to you getting your work done efficiently. Although we think you'll prefer the collaborative setting of our office, you can work from where you want, when you want. The atmosphere of The Point has been describe as "respectfully irreverent." We like smart people with strong opinions.
Our people
We hire based on the quality of the candidate, not whether or not we have a spot to fill. We value well-rounded generalists, with interest and expertise in a range of topics. While our pay is extremely competitive, money doesn't tend to be the reason people work for us, as it might be at a bank or a travel website.

Location
Our office is located in the River North area of Chicago, just south of the "historic" Cabrini Green neighborhood. Transportation is easy via bus, El, Metra, automobile, or the building's shuttle service. There are plenty of food options, although a general disinterest in interruptions to our frenetic work style results in us eating Thai Food from the same place almost every day.
