Community : General Discussion : Hello all! new here...quick question

I am interested in starting a campaign, but I’m not exactly sure if this is right for me. I am trying to fund raise for a humanitarian trip I am taking to Northern Uganda where I will be providing trauma therapy to former child soldiers. Ideally, I would like to set up a link that I can send to friends and family where they can easily donate money for my upcoming trip. However, after reading through much of the site basics, it appears as if I will need to set up a “tipping point” in order to receive donations. Is that correct? …Anyway to bypass this? If not, any feedback on similar sites that may be better suited for my need would be greatly appreciated. :o)
