So, the CTA is increasing its rates again, and once again it has me thinking about what a great city (an Olympic worth city, even, perhaps) Chicago would be if we had free public transit. I real this article a while back that got me thinking about this in the first place. The benefits of a free CTA would be huge. We would have a much more efficient system if there was more volume, we could justify higher parking rates and even an innercity driving tax (like London), and it would be great environmentally.

So, the question is, what can we Chicagoans do to put pressure in the right place to make this a reality?
