THE PITCH

Sam Zell, chairman and CEO of Tribune Company, has shown a willingness to denigrate a Chicago institution, Wrigley Field.

Tribune Company owns the Chicago Tribune, a paper with just over 1 million subscribers. Tribune Company also owns the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field. As chairman and CEO of Tribune, Zell has the ultimate say with regards to selling any Tribune Company assets.

Since it’s the prospect of more cash that has prompted Zell to offer to sell the naming rights to Wrigley Field, the prospect of losing cash should prompt him to take that offer off the table.

Their is significant money and good will to be lost by Zell if he continues to pimp out the naming rights to Wrigley. Let’s act together - talking with our wallets - to let Zell know how we feel.
