Who said golf was a rich man's game? We didn't. It was a filthy, lying cyber-bully.

For only $42, you can play 18 holes of golf on the rolling hills and flat meadows of Wentworth Hills Golf Club. That's 40% off the normal $70 price, and you even get a cart. Buy a Groupon for dad for Father's Day, or buy four and hit a few with some friends this summer.

Designed by Howard Maurer, Wentworth Hills is a public course that showcases its surrounding beauty: some parts are hilly and full of trees; others are flat, green stretches; and others are straight dirt paths with intermittent ramps. Click here to take a look at the course hole by hole.

Located at 27 Bow St. in Plainville, the course covers 6,310 beautiful yards. Course par is 72, and if you triple that mark exactly, you get a free snow cone. Don't think you can swing a 216? Fret not. Golf.com says, "The goal at Wentworth Hills is to keep the low handicapper challenged while not frustrating the high handicapper." Did we mention you get a cart? During taxing 10 putts, having a cart makes moving between ball locations less physically demanding. Think of all the fun you can have in that cart at a fraction of the normal price:

  • Drive into tree.
  • Drive into pond.
  • Drive into caddie.

Reviews

GolfLink reviewers give Wentworth Hills 4.5 out of five stars. Here's what some people said:

  • "Course conditions early in the season are sharp. The Super here is top rate and it tells in the conditions. I like the twin dirveable [sic] Par 4's in the front and find overall that if I'm playing well, I can score. If I am not, I don't. For me, that's a fun course because I want to go low when I am hitting it straight. We all know it doesn't happen very often. The staff was attentive and friendly and the pub enhancements are just straight out cool... honestly, like nothing I've ever seen before."
  • "If you want to sharpen your "Target Game", this is the place to do it. The front nine maybe [sic] short, but it is tight. The back nine has hazards just in the right place. Easy to walk, and beautiful layout. The girls behind the counter at the grill were great, the gentleman at the bag drop was very friendly."

People at oobgolf.com also like it. “Julango” said, "This is a neat course that one can play numerous times without getting bored. It is short, but with danger all around the most common phrase heard on the course is, 'Oh, I can play that.' There are a good variety of holes. Each hole can be played using multiple club selections. Greens are very soft and receptive to approach shots."

This one is a bit misleading. Their normal daily rate is $42, except for Saturday and Sunday mornings between 6AM – 11AM, when it is $70. There is a cost of cart value, but this isn’t quite the DEAL that some of them are… It’s always good to check the link to the actual provider, to make sure the “value” lines up…

My husband will be coming into town from Illinois and I just bought him this coupon. However, he needs partners for next Friday morning (June 12).

He is a great golfer so it will not be a burden to play with him. Besides he is “wicked” funny!

    Hi Thomas,

The rates are different at different times of the day/week without a Groupon, but these don’t include the cart. I believe the rates currently list on their site are the spring prices and summer prices are a bit higher, more like $59 on weekdays and $71 weekends, but I will follow up when I confirm this.

    Have a great weekend!

This groupon is showing up in my campaigns. I thought I “bought” it last Friday (6/5), but I haven’t received any notification or groupon yet. Didn’t help when I went to go play last Sunday. Granted, this is my first experience with Groupon, so I’m a little fuzzy how this works, but anyone out there having a similar experience? No groupon sent yet for this campaign?

    Hi Jay,

Very sorry, something went wrong with this and your card was never charged (even though you signed up correctly). We are fixing this right now and you should receive your Groupon via email early tomorrow morning.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

    Best,
