I love KFC but it we could get together even a few thousand people to boycott it would have an impact and I would do it.

Meredith Russell replied on Mar 6, 2008KFC buys their chicken from Tyson. Tyson pees on their chicken. Yuck. I’m proud to say I’m a vegan and will never taste that nastiness again. Poor poor birdies.

Bryan Cushing replied on Mar 23, 2008I just wanted to say I think it’s great to see this kind of campaign here, being vegan it’s amazing to see some meat eaters out there who are aware of what goes on, and are asking for a change.

Fiona D replied on Apr 19, 2008The last time I ate at KFC was at least 7 years ago so I don’t meet the membership requirement (“Only join this campaign if you actually eat at KFC”). But I totally support your cause since this is the same reason I’ve been boycotting them for years now.

John Howe replied on Apr 29, 2008I don’t qualify for the campaign – stopped eating at KFC when I read one of the reports on the horrible way their birds were raised and slaughtered.
Even went to the extent of phoning the local KFC where I had been eating for years to tell them why – The manager obviously had no idea what I was talking about.
I fully support your campaign, and encourage everyone who does not qualify to join it to phone their local KFC and POLITELY tell their managers what you think of KFC’s treatment of the birds it profits from.

David Sears replied on Jul 23, 2008For those of you who can’t join because you’re already boycotting, you might consider starting a carrot campaign – “if you change, we promise to become your customers.”

Anonymous replied on Jul 29, 2008I’m not saying that this campaign is a bad idea (it’s much better researched than every other anti-KFC campaign I’ve seen, it actually has a link to an actual study, and not claims based on chain-mail), but you guys do realise that KFC don’t own, raise or kill any of the chickens that go into their food?
They buy the chickens AFTER they have been killed, so I don’t see what they have to do with the welfare of the chickens, they could switch supplier, but that would probably mean paying a lot more money than they do now, they could get the supplier to implement these procedures but at the risk of facing increasing prices. What exactly are you asking KFC to do?

Deana Palmer replied on Aug 3, 2008I am thoroughly disgusted by their behavior with these animals. Not only will I stop eating there when this campaign hits the right number. I will stop now! How inhumane and cruel. Makes me sick to my stomach.

Deana Palmer replied on Aug 3, 2008I am thoroughly disgusted by the way they treat the animals and I choose to never eat at a KFC again.

Andrew Mason replied on Aug 4, 2008Anonymous – the campaign seems to be pretty clearing asking KFC to adopt the recommendations of their animal welfare board.
The rationale is probably laid out better in those links, but it’s probably something like this:
- KFC is enabling the poor treatment of animals by purchasing from suppliers that use inhumane practices
- The campaign states that changing suppliers would only cost an additional two cents a meal.
