Dear Andrew,
The tipping point is $23,000. Where can I post that on the website?
Thanks!
During the 22-year-old war in Northern Uganda, Eastern Africa, thousands of people fled the violence and abductions wrought by a guerrilla group called the Lord’s Resistance Army.
A group of thirteen women and their thirty children fled to Kampala, the capital of Uganda. They arrived destitute and jobless; their husbands and extended families killed by war or HIV/AIDS.
The women took the first jobs they could find: working at stone quarries for under a $1 a day or prostitution. Often both.
Our goal is to raise enough funding to help these women start a sustainable tailoring business and give them the right to feed their children more than once a day.

Hey everyone,
Due to the current economic climate and other circumstances, we’ve decided to significantly lower the “tipping point”.
Please check out our new campaign at: http://www.thepoint.com/campaigns/women-of-kireka
We’re aiming for enough funds to buy 10 sewing machines to get the women started!
Dear member,
Faced with the economic crisis and other circumstances, we’ve decided to lower the tipping point of the Women of Kireka fundraiser.
I will be closing this profile, which means your donation will not be charged.
However, we would kindly appreciate if you re-donated to the new Women of Kireka profile (search Women of Kireka) which I will open momentarily. The tipping point will be much lower and thus the goal more attainable.
Otherwise, the Women of Kireka are doing wonderful. While working to the goal of opening a tailoring business, the Women of Kireka will be making beautiful leather bracelets. Please let me know if you’re interested, they’ll be available in Canada and the US. More information will be posted on the profile.
Many thanks,
Siena Anstis

How much specifically are you trying to raise? You should make that the tipping point for the campaign.
Dear Andrew,
The tipping point is $23,000. Where can I post that on the website?
Thanks!

Cool – I updated the campaign for you. So the way it works is that people pledge, but the funds are only released once you raise the full amount you need for the project.
Add as much detail as possible! The more we know about you, the people this will help, and exactly how the money will be used, the more people will want to donate.
As a token of good will, I’ll throw in the first $100 :)
<dl>Hey there,
Thanks! That’s kind of you.
23,000 seems a very long way off!
Any tips on advertising? I have this link all over the blog itself, Facebook, email chains etc.
