- THE PITCH

Classipop songstress Mary Bichner has been dreaming up grand plans for Box Five’s very first full-length LP: lush symphonic pop tunes adorned with soaring string ensemble, glittering woodwinds, & sweet vocal harmonies.
However, since hiring a professional 14-20 piece orchestral ensemble costs a pretty penny — not to mention recording, pressing, & touring fees! — she knew that something as simple as having a bake sale wouldn’t quite cut it this time. Luckily though, she found thepoint.com & came up with the following brilliant plan!:
Box Five is now accepting pre-orders via thepoint.com for its forthcoming studio album! $15 will secure you a copy of the yet-to-be-recorded CD, shipping included. If able to reach the $15,000 goal Mary promises 1) to release the LP within 6 months of reaching the $15,000 goal & receiving payment from thepoint.com 2) to make public how each & every dollar is spent and 3) to donate any money left over after recording, pressing & touring fees to charity!

Hello everyone who has very kindly pledged to “The Box Five Album Extravaganza!”. I just wanted to write you a brief note to let you know that we are officially canceling our fund-raising campaign. AND because we did not reach our $15,000 goal before closing the campaign your credit card will NOT be charged for the pledge you made, so no worries! Now you can use the $15 you were going to pledge to buy something fun like a pizza, or a cool belt, or sparkly nail polish in three different colors! WOO!
Don’t worry though, the news is good on the Box Five front — thanks to the magic of home recording (a resource we recently acquired access to), it isn’t going to cost us even half of what we anticipated initially, and we can actually fund the album costs ourselves privately. (Hooray!) We are hoping for a November 2010 release for the CD; feel free to sign up for our mailing list and we will keep you in the loop on all that stuff! :)
So, in closing:
1) the Box Five album fund on thepoint.com has been canceled
2) Your credit card will NOT be charged the amount you pledged for this campaign, since we did not reach our goal
3) expect awesome privately-funded Box Five album in November 2010
