I believe that humans need to stop playing God and trying to control nature, especially for our own pleasure. Nature will regulate itself (as it always does) and all that we humans do is destroy it, not improve it. Please leave the wolf population to do what it naturally will, and that is, control itself!

Lauren m. replied on Oct 13, 2008How dare people think about doing this to these beautiful animals. Wolves have almost been extinct before. I strongly believe that these animals were here firth and they deserve their land. IF people would quit destroying the habitat they wouldn’t wander into towns and cities. People who think killing animals in general make me so angry.
I wanting to get a wildlife degree, and have my own rescue. so I can stop the extinction of these beautiful animals.

Melanie Bilcik replied on Dec 19, 2008Honestly the only species that is overpopulated and causing harm is humans. So I guess we should just go out and hunt eachother right? Well it makes sense-. Hunters claim to hunt for population control. If thats their main claim then lets go hunt them. Well humans are worth so much more than animals.

Sadly, we already do. It’s called war.

Melanie Bilcik replied on Dec 20, 2008Yeah uh..I didnt literally mean lets go hunt people I was being figurative. It’s a little pathetic I have to explain that. I was thinking of writing a disclosure but i didnt think anything was that stupid to think i mean it.

Sydney Hart replied on Dec 20, 2008A “disclosure” is not necessary, but spellcheck or grammar-check might be. I would not even suggest that if you hadn’t been the one to call the other stupid.
My remark was meant not only to agree with you…but to reiterate man’s propensity for “causing harm” as you stated. Instead of taking your remark “literally,” I was emphasizing your case. So why would anyone call someone “stupid” who is agreeing with them?
In some Native American cultures, the wolf is a symbol of wisdom…the educator. They believed the wolf has much to teach us about family, community, and how to work as a collective. Your reaction is a perfect example of how man can loose sight of community forces by a singular perspective, one built on ego and defensiveness, instead of loosing one’s self-righteous indignation for the good of the Whole.
Instead of taking my remark as some sort of slight against you….you might have been able to see it as supportive of your view. I, too, believe we have overpopulated our world with bipeds…and should consider now the consequences to our four-legged, wiser counterparts. Surely we can come up with better solutions…
