THE PITCH

Jump to: Reviews | Caribbean Therapy

For $30, today's Groupon gets you a revitalizing facial or deluxe mani-pedi at the new Spa de Mar (a $100 value), located at 50 Ferncroft Rd. in Danvers. Though Spa de Mar's in a perfect location for northern sububanites, city dwellers will need to take a calming drive through the pastoral Massachusetts countryside (well worth it for this deal). If you've got friends in the area, alert them via skywriting, air horn, or carrier pigeon that today's deal gets them a whopping 70% off a relaxing spa treatment. After all, a mani-pedi is even better when you make a girls' outing of it.

If you like AVEDA products, you’re in luck—Spa de Mar’s staff know just how to apply the right AVEDA product for your personal needs. The entire Spa de Mar staff has extensive industry experience; you'll be in good, amply lotioned hands while indulging in the spa's calming environment.

Reviews

Spa de Mar is pretty new, so there aren't many e-reviews. Here's what some current clients say:

  • Spa de Mar is a hidden jewel. It's a beautiful spa with all of the amenities. Each service they offer (facials, nails, hair, and massage) are broken up into rooms within the spa, keeping it relaxing and calming the entire visit! – Meghan L.
  • Spa de Mar has the best staff around! They really take the time to understand your needs and then recommend something that will work the best for you! The Spa is so relaxing and clean and the decor is so inviting! I am addicted to this place! – Melinda A.
  • I recently enjoyed a custom facial at Spa De Mar. I was able to have the esthetician, Nicole, focus on the more challenging aspects of my skin, while providing me with a very relaxing experience. The AVEDA products used during my facial where absolutely wonderful -beautifully scented and very soothing. The environment - clean, fresh and calming after a long day of work. A salon I without a doubt I will be visiting again. – S. Beane

Caribbean Therapy

Aside from dining at Caribbean-inspired restaurants and playing steel drums with my local steel-drum orchestra, the intense and vivid memories of my trip to the islands usually lie dormant in the caves of my mind. After visiting the brand-new Spa de Mar to test out a mani-pedi that uses Caribbean Therapy—an island-inspired moisturizer—I discovered a new memory trigger.

While Spa de Mar's staff rubbed my hands and feet with its sugar-and-salt scrub, I was jolted back to the time when the white island sand snuck up behind me while I was lying on the shore. It tapped my shoulder and said, "You look sore, white man. Don't be afraid of me. I'm only sand. Let me rub your sore spots. Feels good, doesn't it? That's right, fall asleep. The weight of your sleeping body compresses and grinds my sands into finer, whiter, processed sands. When you walk on me next, I'll be even softer to your foot skin. In this way, we are symbiotic, friend."

If you want to relive your own island experiences, keep reading about today's deal for 70% off facials or mani-pedis using Caribbean Therapy products at Spa de Mar.

Ok what is wrong with this website. I’ll give you guys credit for some good food deals in Boston (RARE but good) and some interesting events, but for God’s sakes why do you guys insist on having deal after dead for SPA crap. Facial this, massage that, yoga this, some fitness thing that. COME ON give us something that everyone likes to buy, not just women.

I have wanted to try this place for ages but its now up too $80.00 per person .. So if I wanted to go with a friend that would be $160.00 and if you wanted to make a romantic weekend out of it -The B&B down the street is like $200.00 a night -Thats almost $400 for a meal and a one night stay — Help Me !!!! Well its a great idea for theater and I’ve been to some good types of theater like that where you are apart of the show, but I was really not feeling it. And those shows are so expensive that’s why I jumped for the groupon when it was 40% off. It’s basically two hours of mediocre jokes and mediocre food with the group that performed when I went (The Mobfather).

Nordic Lodge sounds cool – we’ll see what we can do!

Thank You Both … !!!! Very Much !!

    Hi Stewart -

I work for Groupon and set help to set up our Boston deals. We have been doing a lot of brainstorming here to include a greater variety in our offers – I think that you will be happy to see some of the deals that are on the way. In the meantime, get HUNGRY for tomorrow’s Groupon in Boston. Hint, hint.

    Thanks for the feedback,

    Patrick

  • Thanks for doing more groupons in the North Shore area! I love groupon, but for some of them, traveling the 30 miles to Boston just doesn’t fit my schedule. Having some close to where I live (Beverly) has been great – there’s so many cool places outside of Boston, and highlighting these can be a wonderful idea!

Stewart has some great ideas, but as a woman I come to Groupon just for the spa and beauty offers! So please don’t cease to offer those : )

Also, I hope future offers stay a little closer to the Boston area … this one is so far it can hardly be considered part of Boston!

Can I say Groupon WOW. I’ve been so excited I’ve forwarded deals to everyone in my office and to friends. All the ideas you had steward were on target but I have to say a deal is a deal. By the way I’m about to move back to home to Seattle at the end of July. Can’t wait to see the great deals that come to seattle.

Groupon Rocks! Oooo…wonder since I’ll be traveling through Chicago if I could meet Groupon people??

  • Maria B

Those are some great ideas! As a college student I can appreciate all the spa / and local luxuries that I usually can’t afford. Recently bought tanning, spa, and whale watch group-ons! Keep it coming! Me and all my friends love trying all the spas and other group-ons!!

Thank you so much for offering things outside the Boston area. Boston is quite the hike for me, so it’s great to have things in Danvers, Belmont, etc. :)
