We need to let the city of Denver know that it has to stop killing dogs just based on how they look.

Monika Courtney replied on Sep 10, 2008Mayor Hickenlooper’s policy on Breed Specific Legislation only targets the innocent. It violates and terrorizes families and their pets, their lives. Breed bans are the most poorly researched and discriminatory laws ever written – the blood of 1800 innocent family dogs is on your hands, mayor. Denver, killing dogs for looks.
Repeal the ban immediately. Enact tougher laws on irresponsible owners, not on their innocent pets !!! Bans never worked, learn from the Europeans !!

sherry moore replied on Sep 11, 2008I can’t wait to see the Billboard, hopefully it will open up many citizens eyes to the truth about this disturbing ban. Denver has failed to keep the public any safer from dog bites with Breed Specific Legislation. It’s time that abusive and irresponsible dog owners become responsible.

Patricia L replied on Oct 25, 2008We need to work together across this nation to reform BSL. It’s not the breed rather an environmental reaction which causes a certain behavior to eminate. We see this in animals and people, how can we condemn certain breeds without evidence. Bites by dogs in Denver hasn’t decreased, as this is not a pit bull specific issue, it could be any animal in an unusual circumstance.
We need to all commit to be a force to recon with and reform this unnatural law against God’s creatures. If uninformed citizens continue to have a stronger influence, their opinion could prevail.
I hope the billboard brings light on this point, people need to become informed of the facts, not on opinion.
