Hi,
Any word on when the new site could be up and running?
Thanks,
Allison

The Sun Journal is pulling its support for NPD and we need help. We need to buy servers to keep this news design site up and running.
Unfortunately, we may not complete the programming for the ground-up redesign before we lose our server space.
We need money to keep the thousands of news pages that are uploaded. Losing all this would be tragic for the news design community.
Please consider donating today. If we can get $2,500 donated, we can be up without problem and the Society for News Design will then start hosting the site.
Because SND also has a tight budget, we’re appealing directly to all of you to help keep NPD alive.
Thanks,
Tim Frank

Many thanks to everyone who contributed.
Tim Frank and the group working on this believe we can have a new version of the site running by January 1. (Fingers crossed.)
This version would give the basic utility of the present site, aimed at getting running as soon as possible, so we have no major issues. We’ll aim to have tagging right away, but other features will follow as soon as possible.
More updates will come as we get closer. Just wanted to let you all know where we stand.
And, mostly, I wanted to tell you how genuinely appreciative we are. You should all know that your generous support helped make this all possible.
Thanks again.
You rock!

Thank you to each and every one of you who donated to help save NewsPageDesigner.com.
We are very close to our goal. That’s amazing!
Please continue to point people toward the pledge page so we’re sure we make what we need to keep NPD alive. This continued support means so much.
Kudos, again, on stepping up so quickly to help keep one of our valued design resources going.
You rock!

Kudos to Steve Anderson for jumping in with $175 tonight. That’s just a wonderful testament to how much people like Steve, and all of you, believe in the importance of NPD!
Please keep passing the word (I know you all are) and let’s keep the effort going to see how much we can help Tim at making NPD alive and thriving!
Thanks again, Steve. Very generous!

Huzzah! Kudos to Detroit’s own Mr. Anderson. We’ve gratefully known his generosity, commitment to excellence — and avid NPD.com viewership for a long time now. Well done, sir.
That’s right. This is truly a moment for the history books.
Robert Knilands, known throughout the visual journalism community as “Wordhawk,” has donated to the cause — he’s helping save NewsPageDesigner.com!
If you’re here and contributing, you probably don’t need any backstory on the Hawk’s feelings about a lot of the work that goes up on NPD. He packs a strong set of beliefs and opinions. And even if you disagree with him, you can’t deny his passion.
And you can’t deny that he’s enough of a stand-up guy to contribute to a cause that most of us in here would assume he would want to see fail. But that’s clearly not the case.
So a special thanks to Robert Knilands for chipping away at the goal. Seriously. Thanks, Robert!
OK. Here’s hoping there’s a non-PFAD category at the new incarnation.
Woot! You tipped the balance! What a stunning, rapid response – in less than 24 hours YOU made a huge difference. On behalf of NPD.com and SND – thank you, thank you, thank you! There’s still room to grow though, so if you didn’t see this before, please consider adding a few bucks so we can keep NPD.com going even longer, and perhaps build it out even more in the days ahead.
Again thank you for your impressive reaction.
