OBJECTIVE
Raise Money to Save a Katrina-gutted Home!
TERMS

If we reach at least $6,300 by February 8, 2009, then The house is saved and Catholic Social Services will come in to pass inspection and drywall!

THE PITCH

Disabled and now unable to drive or work due to the toxic fumes of both formaldehyde and black mold, she is a victim of the disregard of the FEMA attempts to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Multiple attempts to keep the house she has worked for years to have have come to multiple road blocks. Foreclosure attempts by the mortgage company, FEMA inspections that pay no respect to the conditions of the temporary trailer, and the toxic affects that have taken their tole have all led to tens of thousands in repairs, new inspections, and bills. Please help us raise enough money to get OUT of this trailer and back in to the house that has been gutted by Katrina!

I am the person this request is for. I know there must be a lot of questions, so please ask away. You could also go to my profile and see if any are answered by that. I am trying to save the house from foreclosure so that a help group will come and get me to one room livable and drywall up everywhere else. Once that happens, I will have many more options open to me to make a living while I am waiting recovery from toxicity and regain the ability to drive. I am severely limited in what I can do in the FEMA camper because it is just too small to do much of anything in. I just have to get over this hump and not lose the house. I’m not a bum or a whiny gimme type person at all, I was an industrial welder before Katrina, I am used to working hard and for long hours. I am just beaten down by toxic chemicals and mold and worn out from the stress of dealing with the stress of the last three years alone. I promise to pay ahead whatever help I get. And a little help now will prevent my needing a lot of help later, since the house is my entire retirement and if I lose that, I will be on the public dole come retirement days!
Thank you to my friend who did this for me and thank you to anyone who is willing to help!
