In 2001, I spend 5 weeks in Nepal, trekking around the Annapurna with sherpa Pema.
After the trek we met Pema’s wife, Junu, and their three young children Kiran, Kishan and Suja. All three of them gorgeous and full of life. Hard to deal with the fact that they were living in poverty with no fair chance of ever getting out of this.
Children from a marginalized group need better scholarships to face the future. So we decided to look for a better school than the Nepalese State School they were in. We finally found the Bal Deeksha Sadan High School.
We presented the idea to the father who agreed with our proposal. Kiran, Kishan and Suja have been studying at this new school from that day on.The cost per year is between 450 and 550 dollar for the 3 children. I’ve been paying for many years now and the total amount has become important.
