Having once been myself a full-time volunteer, I do see a need for a revamping of a spirit of service in our country. I think it is a worthwhile way to spend our time and I look forward to finding something real interesting to spend my hour. In fact, I’d be willing to organize a Chicago service event for those of us in Chicago who joined this campaign.
Also, we have a very interesting history of young volunteerism in our history with the creation of Peace Corps and the VISTA program along with a surprising amount of other programs that were all born around the time of Sargent Shriver and JFK.
There is a real interesting movie that was made in the past few years about Shriver called American Idealist: The Story of Sargent Shriver that is quite interesting. Here is a link to the site:

The movement towards service I believe is one worth revamping and will only add to our now epic switch from the most apathetic generation in history to a quite active one.
I also think that not allowing Obama to have his Blackberry is downright old fashioned.
