The Backstory
The week of New World Arts’ opening show, Marisol, we had a situation that no theatre wants to face: our lighting board, which allows us to program and control the lighting for our theatrical productions, stopped working. After several attempts to try to get it working, we had to face the reality that the board was beyond repair.
We also discovered, during the rush to get a rented lighting system in place for Marisol, that our dimmer rack (which manages the power to run all of our lights) was propritory, and can only work with the board we had. In short: because one piece broke, we have to replace the whole thing.
Anyone who has been to a New World Arts show knows how important lights are to the work we do, and the experience we try to bring to our audience. Without a lighting system, we cannot continue to bring downtown Goshen the type of alternative, professional theatre that we have produced at New World Art Read More

Daniel Palmer replied on Mar 3, 2008Incredible.
We have not even launched proper advertising for this yet and we’re already at 5, and what’s even better, we’re at 5 with only a few people.
We’ll be launching proper advertising for this next week (Marisol’s extended run is going to be taking up our time this week). But please: spread the word.
We appreciate you guys!

Anyone who has been to a New World Arts show knows how important lights are to the work we do, and the experience we try to bring to our audience. Without a lighting system, we cannot continue to bring downtown Goshen the type of alternative, professional theatre that we have produced at New World Arts for 10 years, that has made us a staple of our beautiful Downtown.
h2.New World Arts needs your help!
We are reaching out to our best resource and source of support – our audience – to get through this crisis. New World Arts has launched a campaign to raise the money needed to replace our lighting system, using a website called The Point.
We are asking for small, individual donations from friends of the theatre. If 121 and people donate only $50, we will be able to reach our goal.
h2.What you will get
As a thank you for helping New World Arts in this time of crisis, if we reach our goal we will be giving everyone who donates four tickets to ANY New World Arts event, that NEVER expire. If you come to New World Arts shows, concerts and events even a few times a year, that nearly covers the cost of your ticket price.
h2.More information
If you have any questions, or would like more information on donating to our Save The Booth campaign, please feel free to contact us or call at (574) 229-4780. We’d be happy to answer any of your questions.
h3.Corporate donations
While our campaign is focusing on small, personal donations, we will work with corporations and businesses who are eager to contribute to the arts in downtown Goshen. To arrange details and the corporate benefits of donation, call (574) 229-4780.
