Network Solutions is a domain registrar that has a history of abusing its customers and potential customers.

Originally a safe and relatively cheap way to buy a domain name, the company has trampled on its goodwill by registering domain names out from under potential customers and is now attempting to monetize sub-domains that its customers are not using.

It is doing so by redirecting them to network solutions advertising instead of the domain’s homepage. As an example, if google.com was registered through Network Solutions and you tried to go to http://cool.google.com which doesn’t exist, instead of redirecting you to google.com you’d be taken to a page full of ads that benefit network solutions.

This must stop and if we can get enough people together to stop them by leaving or threatening to leave it will.

They also temporarily register domain names when you search for them. I’ll happily move away from Network Solutions if it would make a difference.
