Moore Massage wants you to relax. Really relax. So grab today's Groupon: $50 for a one-hour therapeutic massage at Moore Massage (normally $95). Local media seem to agree that Michael Moore gives the best massages in the Boston. Boston magazine named Moore Massage Best of Boston in 2007 and 2008 and Improper Bostonian named Moore Massage as a 2009 Boston's Best winner. Michael Moore has assembled the only crew of therapists that can keep up with his world-class massage standards. A Moore Massage is no ordinary lavender-lotioned, fluffy-robed, nimble-handed pat on the back; it's a serious muscle-melter from AMTA/NCBTMB-certified, Boulder College of Massage Therapy-graduate therapists.
A Moore Massage is more than a massage: it's affiliated with Boston's best in chiropractic care, physical therapy, acupuncture therapy, personal training, Pilates, or yoga into a personalized back-bliss plan. This Groupon gets you more than one Moore option: a clinical and sports massage, a neuromuscular-therapy and orthopedic massage, or one of the many wellness and relaxation massages, including Swedish, deep tissue, and Thai massage.
Today's Groupon is only good for new Moore Massage customers who want an in-office massage in any of Moore Massage's three locations: 575 Boylston St., 4th Floor, in Copley Square; Revolution Fitness at 209 Columbus Ave.; or 1678 Beacon St. in Brookline. Longer massage options and massages with Michael Moore or Keith Stiles (former Cirque du Soleil staff massage therapist and Moore's original instructor) are available, but these do cost more. So if you're looking for la crème de la crème, you can simply pay the difference between your Groupon's $95 value and these higher priced options. Either way, you're going to get a great deal.
Massage Reviews
Boston magazine named Moore Massage Best of Boston in 2007 and 2008, EDGE's reviewer waxed poetic with wow, and DailyCandy agrees. Here's what they're saying:
- As EDGE’s Travel and Style Editor, I’m fortunate to get frequent massages, largely at five-star resorts and world-class spas. In ten-plus years of being pampered, I can honestly say I’ve never had a massage as incredibly amazing as I received from Keith. If I won a million dollars tomorrow, I’d skip Gucci, forego expensive restaurants, and hire this man to manipulate my body as often as possible. (In fact, within the first five minutes of being on his table I thought, "If I never bought another Gucci or Louis Vuitton bag and stopped constantly redecorating my house, I could probably afford to see him every week...") – Jason Salzenstein, EDGE
- Warnings: Avoid if you prefer the fluff-and-buff procedure of meditative spas. Massage therapist Michael Moore works into every crevice of pain to coax relief out of places you didn’t know needed it. Do Not Use: If you enjoy the hip, shoulder, and neck flexibility of Gumby. This service is meant for those who suffer from acute to severe cases of everydayism...Side Effects: May cause mild soreness, utter relaxation, and, in lucky cases, nirvana. – DailyCandy
Yelpers give Moore a perfect five stars:
- If you are looking for a therapeutic massage (think targeted pain or ache treatment, convenient hours and locations, guidance for further treatment), this is the place. – Jessica F.
- I've been seeing Michael for nearly 9 months now, and I honestly don't know how I ever lived without him. – Renee M.
- I had the most awesome massage from Moore Massage. Very professional, very clean and very relaxing...he really worked my muscles and it was probably one of the best massages I have ever had... – Dan G.
Movie Reviews
- It's likely his most important, most impressive, most provocative film, and it's different from his others in significant ways. – Los Angeles Times
- Dazzlingly assembled, at once reckless and insightful, the movie filters the actions of the Bush administration through a nose-thumbing outrage that might have been irresponsible if Moore's own words weren't girded by images that spoke 1,000 more. – Entertainment Weekly
- Moore's combination of horror and levity is sharp, uncomfortable, and evocative. Sometimes it is delicate, mixing it up in the background; often it is a sledgehammer to the brain. – Filmcritic.com
