I’m already vegan, too. I actually think campaigns like this aim too low and reinforce the idea that there’s a difference between exploiting animals for their flesh and exploiting them for their milk and eggs, but I would be pleased if millions of people started eating vegan at least one day a week.

Vadim Gershteyn replied on Sep 3, 2008Well, given that most Americans eat meat at least once a day and often see vegetarianism as a daunting task I don’t think this campaign is aiming low at all.

April Beasley replied on Dec 22, 2008I recently converted to vegetarianism, in Texas no less. It’s a overwhelming concept, when you’ve grown up on a meat based diet. It’s wonderful to give people a place to start and this campaign does that. Just one day a week allows someone to see how easy it is to make the switch. Some people will grow into 2-3 days a week. Vadim, I applaud you for doing this. I think this will introduce many into a longterm lifestyle. Mine was a year long pledge which I will see through my lifetime. Thanks for doing this!!
