Auto industry money woes tied to health care. Would marijuana help?

  • It is apparant to me that the automakers are blaming their fiancial problems on the cost of providing health care.

While I despise the auto makers for making overpriced unreliable vehicles, I can understand their dilemma.

    Let’s take a closer look:

    Health care is expensive. Why?

Because doctors have to justify the high cost of education and protection from medical malpractice lawsuits.

OK. Lets start with the lawsuits, and ignore for now the high cost of education, because in reality, everybody tries to capitalize on that (lawyers, for example).

Medical malpractice – what does this entail?

One example is prescribing medications that are approved by the FDA, yet prove to be more damaging to the patient than the conditions that the drugs were prescribed to remedy. In other words, “unwanted, debilitating side effects”.

These lawsuits run into the billions of dollars. Are they justified? That’s a whole other argument, and I don’t want to go off on a tangent.

The auto industry, because they are controlled by unions, are forced to offer medical benefits to their employees. These benefits are extremley expensive to provide. WHY?

Back to medical prescriptions now. Anyone with a computer can do the research on drugs legally prescribed and what effects, both positive and negative they have.

One can also reasearch alternative medicines like holistic stuff.(I have a cousin who is a Dr. in this field). I know from her experience that the pharmacutical companies (which are government controlled)are, to say the very least: Not Too Happy With Holistics. Why? Because it cuts into the pharmacutical’s profits AND INTERUPTS the cycle that is currently in place: Provide dangerous legal drugs, creating a revolving door of patients with new or additional health problems, all with the intention to make higher profits for the drug companies. Holistic medications have no side effects. They are expensive too, but that’s only because of the lack of demand. As it is now, most people are brainwashed into thinking that only a doctor who prescribes government approved yet dangerous drugs is the only way.

    What is the solution?

Here’s a start. Please watch this video.

As you should now be able to see, prohibition of marijuana could be the root of the economic woes of America (and the world) today. If it is not the root, then it is at least a viable and sensible solution.

    STOP THE INSANITY!!!

    LEGALISE MARIJUANA TODAY!!!

It would be UNAMERICAN not to!!!!

Why wouldnt you legalize marijuana? The economy is beyond bad and the Government wants people to buy stuff… WTF the only thing i see is people buying weed! HELL YEA. Toke it up and sign the petition.

  • I’m sorry Mr.Okeefe im gonna have to respectfully disagree with you. I believe that the automakers got their self in this situation. I like you said they make expensive unreliable cars and people are buying other brands. They can blame it on health care all they want but at the end of the day i think they know who is responsible. But you made a good point about healthcare. I think health care would be alot cheaper with the legalization of marijuana. France’s healthcare is totally free i dont understand how they do it. I guess they just tax the hell out of the people but with the legalization and as many people who i think it might deplinish a considerable amunt. If you notice alchohol was legalized right in the midst of the great depression. As soon as it was americas revenue skyrocketed. it is just ideodic not to do this I dont understand why they cant see it. But i really dont see Baraak Obama helpiing us much at all.

  • Hi Daniel,

That’s OK, you made my point for me anyway.

I was just taking the UAW’s claim at their word and highlighting what could be done. Of course I don’t believe that health care costs are the sole cause of their problems nor do I believe the legalisation of marijuana BY ITSELF will totally fix the heath care problem, but it would go a long way.

Merry Christmas and keep up the good fight!

    WE WILL ULTIMATELY WIN!
