I was looking through the posts and all i saw were people talking about smoking in front of cops and being a juggalo, whatever the fuck that is. I havent seen one post that has actually made sense, the reason marijuana is illegal is because most of the people who smoke it are ignorant, they dont care about what happens when theyre high or what they do, they just wanna get high because they think theyre cool. I mean, I personally smoke weed because it makes me feel better about myself and not care what other people think about me, theres also people who smoke because theyre either in pain or they have depression problems. All im saying is if you smoke weed for no reason at all then dont post any stupid shit like that because it does not help one bit. If you want it to get legalized the go ahead and join this petition but if you want to post shit about how your a juggalo or a juggelette or a gangster or whatever it is you are then post it somewhere else because we dont need it here.

Katie Haynes replied on Dec 3, 2008Oh, YAY! Thank you for saying that. Just throwing an idea out there….. maybe we should all think “why do I smoke pot?” and post it on here. The more good reasons the better chance we have. (All gansters and such forth need not reply)I will start maybe the rest of you wont be shy. My husband will agree that I am a horrible nasty crazy bitch when I have not smoked. I could take some pill for this I am sure but I am pretty much a hippie and pot is natural. Also if you smoke and get in your zen you can really come to peace with alot of things and maybe figure things out in your head that you couldn’t before, I know I can. (p.s. All you guys out there if you can’t pick it don’t do it. Thats just my advice tho)

Micah Pinkrah replied on Dec 3, 2008I smoke weed to relax me for the most part. I sit back, find something to watch, and mellow out. I feel if you can buy a can of beer and do that why not a joint? I mean, I’ve never heard of people O.D.ing on weed, being addicted, or hurting someone for a smoke. Its the most harmless drug out there but they have these above the influence commercials circulating like crack, meth, and heroine all disappeared and its the last drug left. I agree in part with Tyler; we can’t just sit here and complain about how we can’t smoke. Action has to be taken and if you truly feel that you have a right to use marijuana, you should do more than smoke it, you should fight for it.

Mark O'Keeffe replied on Dec 3, 2008“We need smarter stoners in this campaign”
A good start would be to stop labeling ourselves as “stoners”. It’s akin to calling beer drinkers alcoholics.

Manuel Padilla replied on Dec 3, 2008i smoke weed bcuz ive loved it since day 1. i look forward 2 having myself a good smokeout over the weekend. (i try not 2 smoke on weekdays so it dont affect my skool work) but sumtimes i slip up. but other then that i can say i smoke weed cuz since the day i took my first toke i really liked it. it annoys me when people look at me like some kind of junkie wen i say i smoke weed. its less harmful then anything else out there. all the propaganda the federal government made back in the day is still around to this day cuz people believe this dumb excuse for prohibition. my parents think weed smokers are a bunch of idiots who have anything better to do, yet they look the other way if i pick up a beer. it pisses me off greatly. i want this 2 change sooooo much, its become 1 of my major goals. i feel blessed because i found this place and i found more people that feel the same way.
btw mark, i take pride in calling myself a Stoner. now if u call me a “pothead” ill get offended, but thats just me.

Aaron Hall replied on Dec 3, 2008Read this article posted in Reuters today about the failed war on drugs. The article mentions…..Enter Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP), an organization started in 2002 by police officers, judges, narcotics agents, prison wardens and others with first-hand experience of implementing policies that echo the prohibition of alcohol.

Melissa reynard replied on Dec 4, 2008Marijuana IS NOT a drug and should not be treated or classified as such. Marijuana truely harms no one. It is excellent for pain, whether physical or emotional. It helps tremendously with anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, OCD, etc. And has anyone ever heard of someone overdosing on weed? NO…you would have to smoke TWICE your body weight in marijuana in one sitting to overdose. And thats not even possible because after just a bit your body would say goodnight and you’ld fall asleep! Most marijuana smokers partake responsibly with no adverse reactions to anyone. The government needs to get their heads out of their asses and get a clue. Marijuana is completely natural, no chemicals are added as with alcohol, heroin , cocaine, MDMA, etc.
GOD put this wonderfully NATURAL herb here for our health and wellbeing. God is peace and love, and so is marijuana. And i personally believe that the government would actually make more money in the end if the legalized and taxed it as they do with ciggarettes.which btw, cigs are a million times more harmful than marijuana. All they would need to do is allow a few choice groups to farm the marijuana and package and tax it, sell it in the liquor stores to persons of age. There is possibly only one bad side effect to smoking the marijuana and that is the resin going to your lungs, but even so? Still alot safer than the 600+ chemicals you breath in with a cig. And if that bothers you…but a vaporizer!!!!

Micah Pinkrah replied on Dec 4, 2008That’s a valid point Melissa that you bring up about the financial pluses of legalizing marijuana. You should click on Aaron’s link. Its pretty interesting. I agree with Alvi, I like that saying.

tyler koon replied on Dec 4, 2008its not a matter of getting more “stoners” to sign up. Its about doing what is right and most of the replies on here are foolish and prove nothing. You are just venting frustrations and anger.
You will never get people to follow this cause because you are making a mockery of what the movement is about.
Marijuana was made illegal to help stop imigrants and unwanted minorities… You people are feeding that Stereo-type. –

tyler koon replied on Dec 4, 2008you do need smart people to lead this revolution we all want… People such as myself have no voice when it comes to politics, nor do any of you i would assume.
Visit N.O.R.M.L – they are an orginization for the reform of marijuana laws. They have chapters all over the country and they are respected in the community.
go to the site – sign up – donate $15 bucks to the cause and quit bitching.

Micah Pinkrah replied on Dec 4, 2008I appreciate your concern Tyler but you are guilty of the same thing you’re accusing us of, venting. Right now we’re voicing are opinions. We have to see how many like minded people out there. We all heard of NORML. Coming here and calling people’s comments foolish is uncalled for.

no i am not venting i am looking for people who are actually trying to change things. people can talk and talk forever about what is wrong with politics and it will achieve nothing at all. I was saying that some-one such as myself who has no schooling other than highschool, has no voice to the people that run this country. I am just another face in the crowd as all us “stoners” are.
I am bashing no one, i am talking down to no one, i mean no affense. I never called anyone “foolish”, just stated my opinion".
Juggalos – are associated with icp – icp sings about murder, torture, and god? Is this the kind of person you want to put in front of a court to speak on marijuana?
Gangsters – gangsters are associated with crime, blagh blagh. Again good for something associated with the court process? doubt it.

tyler koon replied on Dec 4, 2008I live in michigan, which jut passed prop.#1 (medical marijuana) by over 63% passing in every Countie!
this shows the overall idea of marijuana is not something Everyone frowns upon anylonger. The majority of people believe that marijuana is not the real problem in america and they believe it is something that can help those in need.
In the news around here the police are trying to appeal the law and get it very strictly written. People are always going to look down on “stoners”. they are always going to lie about the dangers of marijuana, exp. They said that new marijuana is soo potent it can kill you!
