In the United States there are approximately 301,139,947 citizens, of which 215,088,545 use the the Internet. I believe there are 100 million, nearly 50% of the Americans online, feel that Marijuana is no more dangerous than alcohol and should be controlled in the same manner.
I’ve always felt at a loss when it came to this topic and the issue of standing up because, as the founder of the point stated, no one wants to stand around protesting for an uncertain outcome and honestly, it would be a little difficult to have 100 million people gather to protest.
We need to finally take a stand!

I’d just like to say that I haven’t wasted any time on this campaign, other than initially setting it up. I know the campaign isn’t going to work and has a stupid tipping point. I’m glad there are other campaigns for this cause and I encourage everyone to join whichever campaign is better thought out. I’m surprised to see that this campaign is thepoint.com’s most popular campaign of all time, and I thank everyone for their effort.

This year measure AB 390 will be on California’s November ballot. It stipulates the legal cultivation, production, sale, use, and taxation of Cannabis sativa, more commonly known as marijuana for those 21 years of age and older. I urge all residents of California and absentees living elsewhere to make sure that your voter registration is current, and also to get out the word in support of this measure.
AB 390 will jumpstart our ambitions for a thriving green economy in a variety of ways. It will provide Californians with many thousands of new jobs in agriculture and cultivation, production and manufacture, small and big business, science and innovation, licensure and regulation, tourism and recreation. This state’s unemployed can get back to work at good jobs that will enable Californian’s to start saving and spending responsibly once more.
Not only will this measure pad the wallets of Californians; the production of hemp derived products will insulate our forests and trees that would otherwise be milled into paper from destruction. The growth of marijuana and resulting preservation of our forests would help to absorb Co2 emmisions. Marijuana as a plant would be beneficial to our state’s fertile soil; increasing our farmer’s ability to produce the many fruits, vegetables, and grains that nourish the United States and the world.
The legalization of marijuana would ease the strain on California’s borders, courts, and prisons. No longer will the harmless members of our communities be categoricaly equated with murderers, abusers, and thieves at the exspense of taxpayers. With the production of our own marijuana, this state could stop funding foriegn terror organizations and the corrupted governments influenced by drug cartels. With its taxation we can bring in much required revenue to invest in the education of our children so they may not turn to harmfull substance abuse that truly degrades individuals and tears lives and homes apart.
Finally, the realization of this measure will be a spark that starts a blaze of conciousness throught this nation, so that all the states of the United States can reap the benefits of the plant that the fathers of our nation grew and advocated for Americans to, “make the most of the Indian hemp seed and sow it everywhere (George Washington),” because “the greatest service that can be rendered to any country is to add a useful plant to its culture (Thomas Jefferson).”

I am reading through half of your damn posts, and all the while I would rather shoot myself in the head with a dull projectile. Most of you say that the production of Marijuana helps the planet, yet your too stupid to spell anything right because most of your damn brain cells are dead. The others think that you should get a political leader to help you out, hey buddy, they are still trying that, you moron. You people need to get a life and focus on more pressing issues, I don’t know, maybe invest some time in raising more money for cancer, I am sure that is more important than to get your precious drug legalized. Look at me I am whiny little bitch and I can’t stand my life so I want to get away from it all, let just go smoke some weed. Damn fools!

I admire your vision of 100million people joining your website..SOMEBODY’S got to do it right?! I truly believe, in time, that this issue will be decriminalized and made legal in the near future. Ofcourse, it will take TIME. Just like myspace and facebook, the population little by little started to register accounts which add up to multi million members. After that, people started noticing it and that is where the tipping point set in, The same thing will happen here even if it takes 5-10 years, im sure you are well aware of that anyway. I speak about this because i see alot of negativity and pessimism on this website. Simply, for all the people that think it wont work and start hating on this website, Then Get The %#$* Out and join something else.-Wish you every success.
