Shopping locally is one of the best ways to help support the local economy. Studies show that of every $1 spent locally, 70 cents stays in the local community; of every $1 spent at a franchise or national chain, less than 40 cents stays here.

So, let’s get ourselves out of this economic mess by shopping at our neighborhood stores!

An added perk: Shopping locally could save your life. Remember last year, guy at Wal-Mart got trampled to death? That won’t happen at your neighborhood shop :)
