Funds for shelters, foods, medicines, clothes, and education for poor children in Saigon

If we reach at least $2,000 by December 31, 2009, then We will give money to: T.E.I Development Group LLC

THE PITCH
  • About 30% of the Vietnamese population lives below the international poverty line.
  • 28% of children aged five and younger are underweight.
  • For every 100,000 people, there are only 53 physicians.
  • There is a 40% school dropout rate for children aged 12-20 who come from poor families.
  • Small children are kidnapped and forced to wander on hundreds of blocks to sell lottery tickets.
  • Children in poor family cannot afford education because it is not free in Vietnam.

Chinese New Year’s is the biggest and most important holiday in Vietnam. It usually takes place around January or February every year. While other kids enjoy abundance of happiness, good foods, clothes, love from parents, poor kids in Saigon as well as everywhere else in Vietnam are filled with lost, hungriness, emptiness, and much more. They do not know what “fun” is. They are forced to work, help out with chores around the house, etc. at such an early age. Some cant even afford to have a pair of sandals to wear. Instead, they walk barefoot on cement all day.
We cant help but have tears in our eyes every time we visit them during Chinese New Year. We try to bring as much joy, foods, clothes, medicines, comfort as we can to those little souls.
So please reach out and send them love!!!
