THE PITCH

Nancy Reffsin and I will be visiting a specific orphanage in Aug. 09 to gather information about scores of little ones living there. The children will need parents and will be available through our agency when we return. We need your help to recruit qualified families to adopt these little girls and boys who need a little extra to bring them into full bloom! Just pass this campaign to 3 (or more) others you think might be interested either in adopting, or who might know someone who is interested.

These children, each of whom is identified as having a correctable medical need, can be adopted through an expedited process.

Homeland Adoption Services is a non profit NY authorized adoption agency working with U.S. citizens in all states. HAS is Hague Accredited through the Council on Accreditation, and a member of Joint Council on International Children’s Services.

The children need your help. They have no one but us to speak up for them. Please pass the word!

We matched two more waiting children last week…a baby boy post surgery for cleft lip/palate, and a lovely 9 year old girl who has waited for a very long time for parents to come for her. We are seeking parents for several small boys, and a 12 year old girl who has a lazy eye. If anyone would like information about these children, please contact us by sending an email to: homelandadoption@aol.com or by calling 845-727-0500.

Homeland is also expecting 30 or more files from a specific orphanage soon. To learn more about our programs, send an email to:

homeland_xingfu-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Thanks to you all for helping to get the word out about the waiting children…

We need families open to adopting boys. We often have to send back files of absolutely darling baby boys because we have no paper ready families open to adopting them. For families who have Hague approved home studies, there is no waiting list to adopt a baby boy!!!!! Please let families know about this….

Warm regards,

Pam Thomas

Hi Everyone,

Well, H1N1 has created havoc with our plans, but we are expecting to receive 30-40 files of children waiting in a specific orphanage in Guangzhou very soon. Since we are not needed to visit at this time, we’ll be sending our in country team to videotape and interview the children, and gather information.

In addition, we expect to announce new programs in the coming weeks, Today, we are busy matching little ones from the shared listings, and from our designated list.

Best,

Pam

Hi Everyone!

We were able to match three more children with families last week! Thanks for all your efforts to spread the word.

We are waiting for our travel date from CCAA…and we’ll be ready to go. Part of what we’ll be doing in china is offering an orientation session about international adoption to older children who will be made available to be adopted. This will be such a wonderful opportunity for us to work directly with the children, and to introduce them to the idea of becoming sons and daughters in America. We’ve put together a great power point presentation using scores of photos of children already here with their families.

The big hold up for us is the fear of H1N1….swine flu. Provincial officials are very nervous about this issue, and we have been asked to quarantine ourselves for at least a week before visiting the officials or going into an orphanage. There are some really beautiful places close to where we need to be so I think we can manage!

At any rate, we’re ready, and we can’t wait to be back in China, visiting with the children!

Pam

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for joining! It’s great to see you here.

We’ll be going to China in September, and we need to get the word out that scores of children will need parents. We expect to spend some time with the children, and to photograph and video them, and gather good information about each of them.

The children are so sweet and innocent, and we always feel so inadequate at trying to convey to prospective adoptive parents what they are really like…walking, talking, laughing, cute and funny, such touching children. It is so humbling to be with children who have suffered tremendous loss, who have no mothers or fathers to care for them. We always try to do the best we can to represent them to parents…

Please coninue to let others know that there are children in China who need a little extra care and attention, and most of all, they need parents.

Best,

Pam Thomas

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for joining and helping us to get started….

If anyone is interested in learning about the XingFu adoption program, they should send an email to:

homeland_xingfu@yahoogroups.com

There are currently about 240 families in there, in all stages of the adoption process, and they are happy to share their experiences with newcomers.

To contact us directly:

Feel free to ask questions ad jum into the discussions!

We’re all quite tired at Homeland tonight, because 4 little girls were matched yesterday with families! One couple met with us about three weeks ago, and accepted the referral of a lovely baby girl yesterday morning. they were quite surprised, to say the least, at how quickly it all happened, once they soul searched, and decided to open their hearts to a little one needing a cleft palate surgery. As they say, the only perfect child is the one you are holding. The XingFu program allows families to step up, and speak up for children who, in addition to having no parents, need a little extra to bring them into their full bloom!

These children are terrific! They are mostly children with the potential for good health and development, but many of them could benefit from a surgery of some kind. It is a privilege to be able to help them to find their parents and permanent homes.

All the best,

Pam

Hi Everyone,

We are so appreciative of your help in locating families for the little ones in our XingFu waiting Child in China Program!

Why is it called XingFu? Because, when Nancy and I travel to China with our daughters, now teens, the grandmas smile and say….you guessed it. XingFu means happiness, or blessed, and Nancy’s family and mine certainly feel that way about the girls who have joined our families through adoption.

We expect to have many, many little ones needing families…boys and girls, each identified with a correctable or manageable need. We depend very much on adoptive parents, extended family members, and supporters of adoption to gt the word out.

Prospective parents need to have a completed home study, so they will be able to submit a dossier of documents to the China Center of Adoption Affairs within 90 days of being matched with a child.

The adoptions are expedited. Families are typically matched within 3-5 months after submitting an application, sometimes sooner. It is very possible to bring home your child within a year.

The way to begin is to apply to the program, fill out a medical checklist, to let know the age, gender and needs of the child you are hoping to adopt, and to begin a home study by an authorized agency in your state. China is a Hague Convention country, so your study must comply. Contact us if you need a referral to a local home study provider.

Best,

Pam Thomas
