Do you ever sit down at a restaurant and wonder why you aren’t eating in a train station? Well, stop. From the group that brought you The Maki Express, a bus stop-themed sushi place, comes Kingston Station—the most true-to-life train station dining experience in the Greater Boston area. Step in and you’re immediately whisked away to an evening commute. You might feel the need to fight through the horde, yelling, “Back away. I’m tired and hungry.” But it won’t be necessary. Allow the nice conductor to seat you. Can’t find a seat? Better grab a handrail—the restaurant’s foundation has been altered with a $4 million machine designed to simulate abrupt stops. So if you’re the type of person who loves eating in train stations but has yet to find the prime skirt steak button on the train station’s vending machine, keep reading. A new era in train station cuisine has arrived.

In other words, basically anytime. When you’re ready for dinner, try the Station Burger, a hunk of beef piled high with bacon, Gruyere and a sunnyside-up egg, or the Steak Frites, a USDA Prime skirt steak coupled with herb butter and french fries. The Internet has spoken. Kingston Station gets rave reviews:

  • “Oh my word! I was floored with the service, food and the ambiance all together.” —goddesszeppelin2 - Citysearch
  • “As Kingston Station has grown into its own, it has fit perfectly into niche unfortunately overlooked in downtown Boston: a reasonably priced, versatile, refined menu and bar for lunch, dinner, and after dinner drinks. It brings Back Bay sophistication and coolness to the space where so many of us work.” —Eric W. - Yelp
  • “a refreshing addition to Bostons restaurant scene. It has the decor, food and style of a downtown NYC restaurant. The food is is very good. The quality of everything they make is simple but superb.” —matthewc357056 -Zagat

Does anyone know if there is a required minimum purchase for these coupons?

I didn’t see anything in the fine print, yet I noticed that it was always the case on similar offers on
    restaurant.com

Big thank you to the person who posted the restaurant.com link, I’ll definitely use it for other restaurants

    Cheers

I generally would agree with the posting about restaurant.com, as I love that site as well, but there are many restrictions on coupons purchased there. For example, most are only good Sun-Thurs and require purchasing 2 meals (for either lunch or dinner). This groupon is more flexible – I plan to use mine for drinks and app’s, on a Friday night!

    Hi all,

At Groupon we try to both get the best deals we can with as few strings attached as possible. For example, with this Groupon $15 will get you $35 worth of food or drink—no minimum purchase is required and you can use it for lunch, dinner, just drinks, or any time they’re open. To put things in context, a $3 for $10 coupon with a minimum purchase of $20 is really a $13 for $20, and the $10 one is really a $35 for $50, etc.

Restaurant.com has some great deals, and a whole lot of them, but for this one I think you get your best value with a Groupon.

    Hi,

There is no required minimum. Keep in mind that if your bill is less than $35 you don’t won’t get any cash back or credit. That said, even if you only run up a $30 bill, you still get great value!

Let me know if you have any other questions I can help with.

The fine print lists 1 per table….I assume this means one per person? If I show up with 5 people and we each purchased our own coupons we can use them individually yes?

    Hi RAJ,

It’s the other way around. No matter how many people have Groupons at your table, you will only be able to use one. If all five of you buy Groupons, you’ll just have to come back 5 times ;)

    Best,

Hmm…I almost made my friends buy coupons themselves…no way we can go 5 times in one night ( they expire tomorrow yes?). Maybe we can sit at the bar on separate tabs and use the coupons that way?

  • Joe Harrow

    Hi RAJ,

These expire on 11/21/2009, six months from tomorrow, so you and your friends will have some time to use them..

    Joe

Understood…thanks for clearing that up! still a good deal!
