DISCLAIMER: The real Bob Horsch is a talented, successful photographer. The following statement was not penned by the actual Bob Horsch but by his unsuccessful twin of the same name.
Hi. I'm local photographer Bob Horsch. For the past 30 years, I've documented my love affair with Chicago by capturing her spirit, attitude, and allure on film. Believe me, it's not easy. Have you ever developed film? Spending hours in a darkroom. Threading film onto that little spool, making sure nothing touches. Sucking in those caustic chemicals. Alone. The other morning I woke up and the first thing I said was "I'm tired." You could argue everyone feels tired when they first get up, but this was no ordinary tired. This was an unshakable mental fatigue. At that moment, I knew my life had to change. I sat up and said, "Spread your wings, Bob Horsch. You spread your wings and fly as close to the sun as humanly possible." So I did. And you know what the sun told me? The sun said, "Bob Horsch, you have mastered the art of photography, but have you mastered art?" Well played, sun. When I returned to my home in the western suburbs, I started a new artistic endeavor: capturing the city of Chicago through illustration. I think you'll be pleased with the results:

Details
Today's Groupon is great for the overly proud Chicagoan who likes to rub the city's beauty in the faces of out-of-town relatives, or for someone looking for a memorable Father's Day gift. Pony up $35 and you'll get a $75 gift certificate to the renowned Bob Horsch Gallery, conveniently located on the Internet. Please note: due to unprecedented levels of traffic caused by "The Groupon Effect," Bob Horsch's website is running a little slow today. If you are temporarily having trouble viewing his site, you can see a few of his images here.
Choose from three decades of Chicago images, including vintage Chicago scenes, breathtaking aerial shots of Cubs losses, and pictures of Michael Jordan. Here are all Horsch's Cubs, Sox, Bulls, Bears, and Hawks photos, and check out some videos he put together to highlight his great selection of Cubs and Bears photographs. Keep in mind that prices depend on the matte, frame, and size of the photo you choose.
Reviews
With an average rating of 4.5 out of five stars, Yelpers are delighted with the Bob Horsch Gallery. Use protective eyewear when reading the reviews because they're blindingly glowing:
- "I can't say enough about how pleased I was with my order. The preview online hardly did it justice. My girlfriend is in Chicago & I'm not, so I was concerned about the quality & delivery — neither of which was an issue in the least. Delivered on time & in perfect shape. And, as if it weren't enough, Mr. Horsch threw in 2 of his calendars just as a thank you! Customer service can't be any better than that! I'll be going back for sure!" – Colin F.
- "This is a really cool store...they've got tons of Chicago souvenirs and collectibles. They've got a ton of White Sox stuff for all you fans!" – Ren H.
- "If you're visiting Chicago it's a good place to buy souvenirs. It's not overpriced!" – Lee-Han J.

diane mavrelis replied on Jun 4, 2009i have purchased pictures from the Bob Horsch Gallery before! They really make a great gift. I plan on giving one to my son who recently graduated from college and moved to Indianapolis for his apartment as a reminder of home. I have donated some in the past to charity auctions. I also used his calendar to cover a table top under glass intermingled with black and white family photos in the city! It always intrigues my dinner guests!! This is a nice opportunity, thanks!!

Kelly Gruver replied on Jun 4, 2009One would think that they’d try to get this hammered out before hundreds of people tried to click on it. Truly uninspiring.

Joe Harrow replied on Jun 4, 2009Hi Everyone.
These problems with Bob Horsch’s website were being cause by too much traffic. The site was running fine yesterday but this Groupon has generated more traffic than their site can handle. They’ve been working on it this morning and it should be working a bit better now. You can also go here to see some examples of their photographs.
Very sorry to everyone for the inconvenience.

Jerry Vachaparambil replied on Jun 4, 2009I’m sure if an upcoming groupon is for a good salon experience we’d get alot of people who want to buy it. Like the 715 groupons that were bought yesterday, if that’s any sign- WE NEED MORE OF THE SALON EXPERIENCEs!
