THE PITCH

The Winnipeg Humane Society is a registered charity dedicated to protecting animals from suffering and to promoting their welfare and dignity.
In order to provide the level of service that they do, they need our help to ensure that the care they provide to animals in need remains top notch.
The humane movement in Winnipeg was formalized in 1894 with the founding of the “Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Women, Children and Animals.” By 1906 other agencies had been established to protect women and children, so the organization’s focus shifted to concentrate solely on animals.

The first WHS shelter to house animals was opened on Logan Avenue in 1929. In 1968 The Winnipeg Humane Society opened a new facility at 5 Kent Street where we were located until the opening of our new building at 45 Hurst Way in October 2007.

‘Help the Winnipeg Humane Society’ has reached the tipping point!

That means that it’s time for everybody to complete the pledge: “Make donations of Time, Money or anything on the Donations List”

Remember that your participation is critical to the campaign’s success. With your help and only with your help will you successfully achieve your goal.
