THE PITCH

I know that many of you were excited to vote for the recent Franklin County Schools tax levy. We have all heard the tired cliche, “the children are our future,” but the sad truth is, our schools are rapidly falling behind other nations. In an increasingly global economy, that future becomes unsettling to picture. So, to stay competitive, we must continue to fix this problem in a truly American way, throw more money at it.
No doubt many of you left your voting both with the realization that you don’t own a home. This must have been disappointing to you, as it takes away your ability to contribute to the very cause you just voted for. Well I would like to provide you with an outlet, so that you can be a part of the solution through my property taxes. Give as much or as little as it takes to settle your conscience. If we exceed $490, we can just put it in the pot for next year to make sure we never get in this sad position again.

I wanted to go point-by-point and shit all over your pitch, but this field has a very restrictive character limit – especially considering the amount of shit at hand. So I’ll be as brief as possible.

If you revise THE PITCH to a more accurate, honest statement, you will get paid. You mentioned the global economy and really two paragraphs worth of words which are 100% irrelevant to the root issue which started this topic.

Here’s your accurate pitch:

“I, Josh Quinn, do not want to put up money for a better education system. Please pay my share for me.”

Do it, you’ll get paid.
