After a very helpful email from a group member I thought some clarification might help the other members/future members.
Q.) When is the posting supposed to happen?
A.) When 75 people join the campaign. thepoint will send you an email as a member of the campaign and inform you that the action you agreed to now has to be performed.
Q.) What pages are we supposed to post on?
A.) Anyplace you don’t see another mention of Franklin. This could be easiest by starting on your own school or a nearby school. Click around and just post anywhere, the more the merrier.
Q.) Is there any sort of deadline?
A.) No – there isn’t. A great unofficial deadline would be the end of the summer so that these posts proliferate the site when people are getting back to school.
Q.) What does this hope to accomplish?
A.) Much of what people are doing to fight juicycampus right now is petitions or legal action. Both of these, while noble and needed, have a limited effect on the reach and sphere of juicycampus.
The pull of juicycampus is that people are writing on the site and contributing to the goal of the creator – to write about real people (whether the stories are true or not). By repeating one phrase over and over again, the site loses much of its ‘juicy’ appeal and will hopefully lose much of its readership.
Also- this campaign will reaffirm the fight to discourage this site (and any future ones like it). This can hurt advertising sales of the site which will ultimately spell the demise of the site overall.
