I am almost done finishing my album “Light Year.” I just need $1000 for duplication. Many of you have kindly supported my music for a while now, and a small contribution will help me reach the finish line!
You can donate as little as $1, and your credit card won’t be charged until I reach the $1000 mark. You’ll get a CD with your contribution, and my undying love and gratitude. ;) Please send me your address if you contribute, so I know where to send the CD.

Hey everyone! Your cds will be mailed to you on January 14. You should receive them a few days after that. If you haven’t emailed me your address, please do so at begtodiffa@gmail.com.
My CD release show is Saturday, January 17 at Uncommon Ground on Devon (1401 W. Devon) in Chicago. I’ll be playing an hour-long set with songs from the album, with my band backing me up. The show starts at 10 pm. Please make a reservation around 9ish if you’d like a table (or else you can stand, there will be enough room, I’m sure.) Their number is: 773 465 9801.

Life is an echo — what you send out comes back. - UnknownI hope I can echo back to you a project I have given my entire heart to—and that it will comfort and move you, the way your generosity has moved me. I am going to spend the $1000 on duplication costs with Oasis Duplication, an eco-friendly company. You should receive a CD by January 1.

I am in the process of finishing recording for my album “Light Year”, partly funded by contributions gathered on the Point. After recording is finished, I must hire an engineer to mix and master the album this summer (Stage 2), then duplicate the disc (Stage 3), then hire a publicist (Stage 4). Here is Stage 2 of my journey!
As any independent musician knows, the album-making process is laborious and expensive. Helping me complete the mixing/mastering stage would ensure I can get the finished product out there at least by Fall 2008. I’d love to finish under the one year-mark! (I began work for the album in Fall 2007.)
Contributing $50 will guarantee you 3 copies of the finished CD, a bonus CD of a live performance at Uncommon Ground, and if you live in the Chicago area, a free live performance at the event of your choosing (dinner party? birthday gathering? Or want me to serenade you when you’re sick in bed with a cold? I’m down for it!)
Of course, you can contribute any amount you would like.
I am an independent singer/songwriter. Listeners have compared me to Rickie Lee Jones, Aimee Mann, and Mark Kozelek…but I believe my sound is uniquely my own. You can hear rough tracks from the album at www.myspace.com/jennygillespie.

Jenny Gillespie replied on Sep 24, 2008Hey everyone—please ignore the “objective”-I wasn’t able to edit it. I have mixed my album and am about to process it. But after that I need to duplicate it so I can get copies out there into the world! This will take $1000 so I can do it through a reputable duplication house, and the artwork can really shine. It’s been a long haul, but with your support and friendship it’s been much easier. A small donation would push me even further towards the finish line. THANK YOU!!!
