Eliminate the Great Pacific Garbage Patch

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch: http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=73586… is an extensive accumulation of garbage, mostly plastics, up to 90 ft deep in some places and at least twice the size of Texas slowly rotating in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It is growing, killing, and threatening ecosystems throughout the ocean and elsewhere. It comes mostly from land and discarded trash.
With some ingenuity, recycling via ships, and some creative marketing of art and other products from this plastic waste, cleanup can be funded, but it needs some attention and your help. Any donation is a first step.
All monies (minus the 5% this website charges for admin fees) will be donated toward a solution and if the tipping point is reached I will personally go on Oprah for more exposure to fight this mess. With the right attention, perhaps we can reach the President’s desk and his immense network for creating a durable and lasting solution.
