THE PITCH

“Which Dog Will Denver Kill Next?” is an ad campaign on kiosks located in three strategic Denver locations: The Pepsi Center Arena, Cherry Creek and Downtown Denver near Denver Health Hospital and Denver Botanic Gardens. Each location shows a different photo but the message is the same—as seen on this kiosk photo in Denver.

Each of the three photos show diversity: a child, a young adult, and a mature woman— embracing their beloved dogs. All are family dogs that would be seized and killed if found in Denver!

The message is clarified by a demand: Repeal Your Breed Ban! Next, we direct viewers to: DenverKillsDogs.com—this website provides valuable information and enlists a Call to Action by Denver residents to remove incumbents in favor of the breed ban in the 2010 city council election.

Current contract is valid until May 31, 09. Your pledge will extend our ad impact an additional 3 months all the way thru the end of August 09.

“People elect the government they deserve.

Valerie Treaster from Nevada tipped this campaign when we hit $225 at around 8am yesterday – only one hour after I sent out the final request! Even more amazing is that several of you sent money after we reached our tipping point of $3500!! Extra funds will be used for more ad space in the future…

Many of you have given to this campaign and some more than once. Thank You does not nearly express my gratitude. Frankly, this Mission is simply not possible without you!

You know that our Denver kiosk ads have been effective in catching the attention of the news media, outraged Denver residents who have joined our efforts to end the breed ban, and others who are fighting BSL in their cities whom we have inspired to take action.

Our new contract will add one new location near City Hall with an extension for an extra 3 months –this time keeping 4 locations live for a full 6 months! Yes, I drive a hard bargain.

It will also feature a new poster with Team Pit-A-Full – remember Forrest and Kane, the dogs Denver intended to kill until relentless Rovers stopped them?

These 2 bully boys found safe haven in California living the good life with Chef David. Now, because of your help – they will soon safely be back to “visit” Denver on a poster near City Hall to strike another blow against the ban!

    Another successful Mission Accomplished, Rovers!

  • Chef David

Hopefully, Forrest and Kane and Daze can visit Denver safely and pee/ poop on the city hall lawn.
That would make them very happy.

  • Andy Whiteman

I am sure the Nazi government of Denver will appreciate the poster in front of their castle.

Forrest, Kane, and Daze are lucky to have a chef for as their father. I bet they get good feed!

  • Chef David

Yeah, I am putting all bets on this poster in front of city hall AND blasting ads out to get more people aware of the BS that goes on in Denver.
With any luck… team pit-a-full and myself will hit the 10 most wanted list in Denver. If so… we will stand at the city/ county line and make faces at their town idiot city council and mayor.

This is a sample of what we are saying:

Dear Denver Residents…

In these very odd and unsettled times… morals, values and ethics are the unwavering foundations we can rely on. Whether it’s how children are raised, getting back to basics or a move to eliminate discrimination… poor economic times somehow seem to bring out the best in people.

So Denver… we ask for YOUR BEST!!! Today, it is discrimination against a breed of dog, tomorrow it will be certain books are banned, and next it will be a social group in our midst who is outlawed.
Please put your foot down and hold your local government accountable. THEY WORK FOR YOU… now make them earn their paycheck by fulfilling genuine public interest, above and beyond their ivory tower of Home Rule.

I thank you,
Denver Pit Bull owners thank you,
and the dogs certainly thank you.

Chef David w/
Team Pit-a-Full

We just made 60% of goal! Thanks to ALL who have given with their hearts and wallets. SPECIAL recognition goes out to Jane Berkey, President of the Animal Farm Foundation who pledged a whooping $1,000 and sent her personal note of appreciation for the fine work we are doing!

Our billboard ads have garnered the attention of the media and respect of many local residents who have signed up for our petition drive to ‘Kick Out’ city incumbents in favor of continuing the breed ban in the next election. Details on DenverKillsDogs.com

Outdoor Ads, Inc has graciously granted us a 7 day extension (set to expire on 6/5) to renew our 3 month ad contract. You are 1 of 100 top soldiers (Rovers) fighting unfair breed discrimination in Denver, CO – named BSL Ground Zero for its brutal breed ban.

We are now wll over 60% and at 70% so we don’t need anyone to bleed to help finish what we started.
Little by little we all met each other through our common interest of saving lives, canine lives but not only limited to canines.
Dr. Paula Terifaj has started something larger than what even she may realize.
Our society has come so far in stopping unfounded, biased discrimination and has made extroadinary progress and results in creating a better America for everyone on our soil.
Just when things seemed to be going so well to overcome insidious discrimination, places that we thought were progressive, forward, humanitarian, compassionate, rational, and a progressive city, the world discovers that they seek to regress to the 1800’s, the age of the Neanderthal, and start a new form of discimination.
Their new form of discrimination is against canines, animals that have no Constitutional Rights. Animals are chattels, personal property to be removed from your back yard by animal control with the help of Denver’s Police. It’s a good thing there isn’t any crime in Denver or these poor officers wouldn’t have anything to do.
About six months ago I read a horrific message from the Mother of a young daughter who said that she taught her little girl to respect the Police, that they were there to defend them and their safety, but after taking their loving family pet and killing it the way American’s have dragged people of color, people from other countries who didn’t speak english and killing it for no reason except for unfounded fear of the way it looks takes this country back to the late 1700’s and mid 1800’s.
Just as animal abusers usually abuse children later in life, Denver’s City Council is teaching Denver’s children that discrimination is Ok for animals.
When they are government leaders, why wouldn’t they based on their education and upbringing believe that discrimination is ok if you subjectively believe a reason exists for exercising it?
You can’t fix stupid. You can remove them from office though so please watch the next election in Denver if you can vote there. If you can’t vote their please consider making a donation to stop discrimination of any kind. If can work in Denver, it can be on your doorstep next week wherever you live.
