I would like to mention that I think this is a great idea. However, I wasn’t satisfied with the quality of the salon. I needed to make a reservation a week in advance, the person on the phone laughed when I requested sooner. I received the crappiest mani/pedi. The manicurist tried to use dirty towels, and I had to request clean ones. Plus, they had a very poor polish selection. The sugar scrub wasn’t much of an added bonus. This salon was not different from salons where I pay comparable prices (to $25). Assuming that this mani/pedi should have cost $50, I could only compare it to paying $20 for a supposedly tube of expensive toothpaste that wound up being baking soda and water. I don’t know if I received such treatment because I went with a groupon, or if this was the standard of the salon. Either way – it was quite poor.

Important research suggests you can tell more about people from their fingernails than you'd expect—37% more. Fingernails riddled with bite marks indicate the person has run out of hot dogs. A bruised fingernail is evidence of someone with the deadly combination of an oral fixation and horse teeth. Fingernails longer than five inches signal a person has shunned society in favor of eating olives out of a jar sans fork. Nails decorated with painted-on Dolce&Gabbana logos likely belong to a person sponsored by Dolce&Gabbana. Prevent the unwanted broadcasting of personal information: go with a clean, relaxing mani-pedi at De Novo.

Sherri Hurwitz replied on Jul 30, 2009This is the second time I’ve tried to use this Groupon. Last time I tried right after I got it and they said they were booked the entire day, however, I tried for the same day. Today (Thursday), I called for next Wednesday and they were completely booked. I am off all day and there was NOT one appointment? I can’t really believe that. Do you think this particular salon reserves for only 1 Groupon reservation per day? The lousy attitude of this salon makes me prefer gettimg my money back. I guess I will eventually use this and go to this place, but regardless of their service I can guarantee that this will be the one and only time I step foot in this place!

Irene Siegel replied on Sep 19, 2009I have a mixed review; I just looked at the description and it mentions a sea-salt scrub ‘to my knees’ and ‘back-massage’ —and i received neither. (the chair was not a ‘massage’ chair, either). I didn’t have trouble getting an appointment (called and got one about an hour before), but when I arrived I was kept waiting for almost 40 minutes. The woman who did my mani-pedi was very nice and I think she did a good job.
A suggestion to Groupon: if you can write out all the services that are included in the actual Groupon, it’d be helpful for us to remember/remind what to ask for.

Katarzyna Halasiewicz replied on Sep 20, 2009I work next to the salon so I decided to stop by the salon to see if when I could get an appointment. The salon was empty except for the receptionist and another woman that worked there chatting in the waiting room. I asked for an appointment and they told me that the salon was booked until next month.
