Cruelty

  • The people that actually harm these animals, just to make clothing should be skinned alive, but what gets to me the most is the a**h*les that wear the clothes.

  • The sun will shine more brightly the day this industry is closed down indefinately! I am horrified and shocked that they exist today. It is a sick society indeed that would condone such evil practices. The people that knowingly support fur farms by purchasing their furs to wear or sell are every bit as guilty and evil as the farmers who slaughter and murder those innocent animals! Truly sickening and disgusting. I will not purchase anything from any store who sells real fur!!

  • Are you kidding me?? I cant watch the video because I know those images will haunt me forever. I already am against fur just because I believe it is a pointless reason to kill animals but I had no clue they were skinning them alive!! How can a human being do that??? I agree with Mary, I do not wear fur and will not buy from a store that sells it. My friend lives right next to a fur store and every time I see it I get mad. Seriously what can we do? This is the most disgusting form of torture I’ve ever heard of and a lot of the reason I am ashamed to be of the same species as the people who do this.

I watched the first minute or so of the video where they’re skinning racoons alive and when i saw the little white furry dog in the cage i had to exit out. I am a huge dog lover. I could barely watch the racoons, i can’t even begin to imagine how i would deal with the dog. It makes me sick to my stomach that we will try to do a petition and when we bring it to china..The head people there will just crumple it up in our faces. China is a communist country. The only way to stop the animal abuse over there is to get one of the main authorities to agree that it is wrong.

  • There is alot you can do Melanie. You are already doing the best thing anyone can do and that is simply not to purchase fur or shop at any store that sells it! You can go to PETA and purchase a “NO Fur” button for $1 and wear it everywhere you go. It is a simple way to get the message out to others that fur is unacceptable and cruel. It also educates others that are unaware yet of the true meaning of fur and the agony animals are put through. Believe me, there are still yet many people out there unaware. I leaflet when I go to the Mall or slide the leaflets on car windshields. You can also find these leaflets on PETA as well. Good Luck and God Bless.

Be sure to expand the laws to include making a shooter take full legal responsibility for shooting or maiming a domestic animal within the bounds of existing laws by reporting any occurance. CASE IN POINT: dog let out to pee, sees game birds in his yard, gives chase into next door neighbors yard thru broken fence (his), neighbor shoots dog 7 times while you watch it all happen, trying to get your coat & shoes on. You immediately go over to ask what happened, the shooter denies firing any weapon, denies he’s seen the dog in question. Sheriff is promptly called (Animal Control division only works M-F), shooter hides & evades questioning, after Sheriff leaves, shooter catches numerous live birds and kills them, evading dog owners attempts to video/photograph. Then he tells you 5 hours later that the dog in question killed 40 of his birds, refuses any access to see any evidence, and your dog is dead and buried. BUT, 5 days later, thru rain & coyotes, the shooter turns the mutilated remains over to animal control so the owners can travel 30 miles to pick the dog up and give him a proper burial. Did I mention he has free range fowl that if chased, return to their coop? We call that “baiting” any dog/cat with vision. BTW: rather than mend his fences or accept a $50 fine, he killed a mated pair of peacocks! BOTTOM LINE: the dog was SHOT & KILLED ONLY FOR A VIOLATION OF THE LEASH LAW! And the shooter DENIED any responsibility.

Close loopholes. Make ANYONE who shoots a domestic animal in defense of existing Livestock Laws, be reuired to report the incident to Animal Control and/or local law enforcementand account for their actions. This type of reporting would also assist in the closing of missing animal reports.

  • Horrible,Vile,Evil Bastards who do this to innocent angel babies.

  • I will not even try to watch the video, I know what I will see and just the thought is already burned into my brain. I am a huge animal lover and just don’t understand. My dogs are my children and I am not the only one in the world who feels this way. I wouldn’t wear anyone’s children and they shouldn’t wear mine.

  • I’ve seen the video. I bought and watched Earthlings, which I highly recommend.

Cruelty to ALL animals must end now!

  • I can’t watch the video. Just the thought that people would do this to LIVING ANIMALS is indefinitely cruel. I don’t understand how people can be that way. Animals FEEL, they CRY. How can you put up with the crying? I love my dogs and my cat and every living animal. These people should be put in jail for LIFE for this torture! This needs to end. Watching the video would haunt me for life, as well… I’ve lost sleep enough just thinking about all these cruel acts that people commit to these poor, defenseless animals. WHY!?!? So a rich snob can wear fur? It’s disgusting.

  • I could not watch the video.I have 2 dogs and a cat and they are my children. It is because of cruelty like this that most of the time I prefer animals(dogs) to people.I wish we could just blow China right off the map! Not only would I NEVER buy or wear fur but I don’t buy China anymore anyway since they have been attempting to poison our dogs and cats and children.JUST SAY NO TO CHINA!!!

  • I could never watch that video. These people should be ashamed of themselves and not be able to sleep at night. Don’t they have consciences? Animals have no voices, WE are their voices. Animals hurt just like we do, they love us unconditionally and that’s more than we can say about a lot of humans. Why don’t these monsters give animals the same weapon that they’re using on them and make it a fair game? Wishful thinking on my part, I know. I bet these monsters beat up their wives and children because they’re killing and torturing innocent, defenseless animals for no valid reason, so why not hurt a human. Or maybe they’re just losers that like what they do and find it fun. They should all have done to them what they do to these poor animals.

  • I agree with you Susan about the fair game.I think NFL player Michael Vick should not have done prison time for his dog fighting ring.I say put him in a gated yard for just 10 min.with a Pit,Rott,Doberman,Wolf,Chow…you get the picture?I would love to get my hands on these “people”(too good a word for them,I know)and stick straight pins under their fingernails, peel their skin with a dull spoon and sprinkle salt on them, after dashing them with lemon juice of course. Then and only then will they understand the suffering they are causing on these poor, helpless, defenseless animals.Maybe that would put a stop to this.

  • Has anyone contacted the aspca with this information could we possibly get their help with this. I to love my dogs like children and sponser a monthly gift to the aspca. I have also taken a pledge to turn in anyone I see abusing an animal.

  • The ASPCA and HSUS is aware of what is going on in China but has no authority there. They can only make suggestions.

As concerned citizens, we can write letters to the Chinese government.

We can inform others as to what is going on.

We can make a difference by being vegetarians. I love dogs and birds more than any other animals but when I look at those other animals I see voiceless souls. People need to be aware that hamburgers are cows, ham is pig, ect. By consuming flesh foods, dairy and eggs we are condeming animals to suffering. By wearing their skins – fur and leather – we are condeming them to horrors.

We all need to live conscientious lives; how we live has an impact on others, both human and animals.

  • I am not a vegetarian but have thought(especially as of lately) of attempting to do so.I ask myself "How can I be an animal lover,in support of defending them and then turn around and eat a burger? I would need some serious suggestions to do it!
However,I definately can write the Chinese Gov.in response to this situation. How do I go about doing that?Do you have any suggestion’s on how to give up meat, eggs, milk…? I don’t have a clue how to.
    I would NEVER EAT a dog,cat,ferret,hamster,rabbit…

  • When I read how they slaughter animals (and it’s much worse now in the ‘factory farms’), that’s all it took to become a vegetarian. Then I just substituted a lot of ‘meatless’ products for the real thing. Next I learned how to cook vegetarian dishes. When I realized that eating cheese means countless baby calves for veal and endless days in concrete stalls for the mother cows, I gave up dairy. There are really great soy ice creams, milk, ect. I like vanilla rice milk to drink. Great books are Vegan with a Vengeance and the Vegan series by Sarah Kramer. First learn how to substitute tasty soy products for the real thing, later on learn more about nutrition. Also, we don’t need all the protein that they throw at us. The Milk for strong bones is just not true. There is plenty of calcium in nuts, vegetables and soy products. There is so much on the internet, all you have to do is look; countless blogs on cooking and living Vegetarian and Vegan.

  • Thank you.It is definately something I will look into.I have already swore to never try veal because of the cruelty to baby calves.I will no longer go to the Circus or to a Rodeo.I love to watch “When Animals Go Wild” because half of the time they have reason to go wild.So in respect to our 4-legged friends it is a life style I will begin to incorporate.Once again,Thank you.I believe cheese will be the MOST difficult.

  • I’m always amazed at the number and variety of specious reasons politicians come up with when they want to attack another country—shouldn’t something like this at least be on their radar? I wonder about the reasoning behind skinning them alive, as well; do they just not want to spend the 1/10 cent that a lethal dose of sodium pentathol would run them? (I’m sure the Chinese military might have a drop or two on hand…) Some people just get off on torture, it seems, and actually prefer it to more humane methods. Rather than judging a nation by how it treats it’s incarcerated, I think it’s more apt to base it on what they do to their animals. Prisoners can hire lawyers and write books, after all.

  • Jeremy, I truly agree with you. Instead of using animals for testing, why don’t they use people on death row? Or is that inhumane? These innocent animals have done nothing to deserve what is being done to them. People on death row have destroyed families, taken lives and every other horrible thing, so why can’t we use them for testing? Who’s better than another human to test products for humans? And yes, like you I believe these people get a thrill out of torturing innocent, defenseless animals. That makes them real tough, doesn’t it?
