CoPress is a non-profit national student organization centered around creating a better technical ecosystem for college media.
We’ve funded the project entirely out of our own pockets to date and, being students, would love seed funding from the community to take our first major project, a website hosting service, further. This initiative enables schools to pool their resources to run on much faster and more reliable servers than they would be able to afford individually.
We also provide these schools with popular opensource software to ensure sustainability for college newsrooms that see a huge staff turnover on a regular basis.
Our goal it to foster a community that can share the know-how of this technical challenge to help college journalists join the ‘new media’ evolution and publish online in a meaningful, effective way.
