OBJECTIVE
WRITE CLUB will pay its artists as it raises money for charities.
TERMS

If we reach at least $4,500 by November 30, 2010, then WRITE CLUB will pay each writer/performer/musician $50 each per show for the year.

THE PITCH

WRITE CLUB – 2 opposing writers. 2 opposing ideas. 7 minutes each. Audience picks a winner. 3 bouts per show. All proceeds go to charities of winners’ choosing.

The show is whip-smart and kick-ass.

Each month at Chicago’s legendary Hideout Inn, some of the city’s most audacious writer/performers square off against each other for a cut of the door going to a non-profit of their choice.

Right now, WRITE CLUB is all volunteer. Since it can take considerable time to write and prepare an original piece or to compose and rehearse the music, we wish to pay participating writer/performers/musicians 50 bucks apiece. That’s $450 per show, ten shows per year.

As with the $ from admission to the show, WRITE CLUB doesn’t keep a dime.

Our motto: WRITE CLUB – do good without being annoying about it.
