Team Groubikepon

"Team Groubikepon" expired announced about 1 year ago

OBJECTIVE
Mobilize Groupon's Bike to Work Week Team to bike to work.
TERMS

If we reach at least 75 people by June 18, 2010, then REI will donate a free bike tune-up to be raffled off among participants.

THE PITCH

Originally known as “the horseless horse,” the bike remains an elegant and indispensable mode of transportation. Celebrate your iron steed by joining Groupon’s Bike to Work Week team. If at least 75 Groupon employees bike as any part of their commute on any day this week (6/14-18), REI will donate one free bike tune-up to be raffled off among participants. Only join this campaign if you are a Groupon employee in North America who has participated by biking.

If you choose to bike all the way in to the office, additional bike racks are available in the first level of the parking garage. You can use Google Map’s bike view to help plan your route, or simply take one of the city’s many hand-dug bike tunnels. If you want a cycling partner or need to borrow a helmet or bike, use the discussion board below to put an inquiry out. On Friday the 18th from 8-9 a.m., loaner bikes will be available at the Chicago Brown Line stop.

Here’s the fine print, courtesy of the fine people at REI:

One winner will receive a Basic Tune-Up from REI valued at $80.00. This includes inspection, lubrication, and precision adjustment of wheels, drivetrain, brakes, and steering system. This certificate is not refundable or exchangeable for cash or products. Good for 6 months from the date of issue. Any additional work on bike will not be covered.

REI is happy to support the Groupon bike to work week team! REI has a full service bike, ski and snowboard shop. Any REI co-op member automatically gets 20% off on all shop services or rentals. We rent tons of camping equipment, cross country skis and snowshoes in the winter.
