We raised a total of $10,700!

That’s how we’ve done today. Another slow and steady day of pledges of all different sizes, and a challenge grant to motivate more.

YOU ARE ALL AMAZING!!!!! It is people like you who make the JGN’s work possible. Know that you are deeply appreciated.

We have only a little farther to go. Can we reach our goal a day early and tip the campaign tomorrow? I would love to see us exceed what we need and really start off 2012 in great shape.

Let’s see if we can all think of just a few more people to invite into the party so we can all celebrate a little early, before Shabbat. Wouldn’t that be lovely?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You all are amazing and wonderful and, though it is stating the obvious, we couldn’t have done it without you. That is the point. Isn’t it. This is about community. This is about pulling together with all our resources, large and small. No contribution is more important than another because they all count toward the whole and the whole wouldn’t be whole without any one of them.

We are thrilled to announce that, as of 1:30 PM, just after our 120th supporter pledged and brought us to $2483 to go, an anonymous donor offered to match, dollar for dollar up to $1000, every incoming pledge.

How’s that for motivation to find more people willing to help JGN “keep on truckin’?”

We had slow and steady flow of pledges today. By tomorrow morning, we might only have $3000 to go. That’s:

6 pledges of $500 OR
15 pledges of $200 OR
17 pledges of $180 OR
26 pledges of $118 OR
30 pledges of $100 OR
60 pledges of $50 OR
166 pledges of $18…

There are over 100 of us. If each of us seeks out one or two or three more pledges, large or small, over the next two days, we will reach our goal.

The work is not over. We have to stay strong and focused. Yes, it’s draining, but think of how it will feel when this campaign tips. Just keep that in mind, everyone, and keep on going!

This is getting exciting!

Can everyone commit to sending out ten new e-mails a day to friends and family who haven’t yet pledged?

How about a Tweet or two?

Messages and posts on Facebook every day?

There’s a principal in marketing/advertising theory that says people need to see something up to eight times before they’ll act on it.

Keep putting it out there. We are seeing results and we need to double our efforts to get a single penny out of this effort.

Can we make halfway by Shabbat?

WE CAN!

Here’s how.

Each of you needs to let everyone you know know that it is important to you to support the JGN. Let them know that we need any amount they can spare. And tell them we want to “go viral” so they need to share it, too.

Now we need to have an even better one tomorrow and Friday.

I hung out on Facebook while watching some TV tonight. When I noticed a friend in my Chat list coming on line (green dot), I wrote a short personal message to him or her to tell about this campaign and how much the JGN needs support. I just kept the link handy so I could copy and paste it into each message.

I also posted and reposted from time to time. I got at least five pledges in just one evening from FB alone. There are lots of posts to choose from on my wall. Feel free to find one you like and click on Share to post it on your wall for your friends to see.

Just some suggestions for how to build awareness.

E-mails to your contacts are great, too. Sound enthusiastic and excited. Be positive! Encourage people to give whatever they can. If we get enough pledges it doesn’t matter if some people give $1 or $5. If that’s what they can afford, then we need it!

I think we need a goal to shoot for. How about we aim to pass the halfway mark, $4800, by the time the campaign has been up for a week. That will be Friday afternoon before Shabbat begins.

In fact, just for the sake of a round number and less to accomplish next week, let’s aim for and even $5000 by Friday.
