  • WITH YOUR HELP……WE DID IT!

With your help, the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue’s Window Campaign successfully matched the $25,000 grant from DTE/ WARM Training Center to make our building more energy efficient. Our beautiful windows have been upgraded and we are already saving resources, both funds and energy!

Although the Downtown Synagogue almost closed our doors two years ago because we were unable to pay our bills, we are now enjoying renewed success with increased membership and expanded social and educational programs. Every week we are having holiday celebrations, Shabbat Services, lunch-and-learn Torah studies, and the occasional dance party. We thank you for your support and respond with an invite to become involved with our wonderful community. Our mission is to serve as a beacon for the Jewish community of Metropolitan Detroit acting as a conduit for Jewish activity in the city and supporting the revitalization of Detroit.

The best way to stay updated about our activities is to send an email to: downtownsynagogue@gmail.com with your contact information. We will put you on our mailing list, that we vow will not overwhelm your inbox.

We hope you will join us for a very special celebration – Making Minyan: 90 Years in Detroit Creating Community at the Issac Agree Downtown Synagogue. It will take place at the GEM Theater in Detroit, on Sunday March 27, 2011. Watch for your invitation in the mail.

Thank you again for your generous donation to the Downtown Synagogue, supporting us as a focal point for Jewish life in the City of Detroit.

We hope to see you on March 27 as we celebrate our 90th!

    Sincerely,

    The Downtown Synagogue

  • ‘Good Riddens to the world’s most
disfunctional club of liberals who think their name is Goldstein’ was my
attitude when I walked out of that
pathetic joint May 2009 as past
    President,long-time Board member
and member for more than 25 years. And
I look forward to the next financial
    “crisis”;maybe then-the current
“leadership”(with the exception of Martin Herman) of this non-synagogue
will throw in a memorial service for the
the late-not great nutty Wayne State English professor Katherine Lindberg who
apparently went off the Belle Isle Bridge
last December-she was unsure if she
    was Jewish-and threatened to report
the then Board(‘08)to WDET if the current Detroi’ 8 faction wasn’t appointed to the Board…MOVE DETROIFORWARD-Do not take B’nai
Obama as a Jewish conduit to anything that remotely resembles Judaism…The Grind strip club across the street is a much better choice for contributions-

The humans and Na’Vi do NOT make peace with each other, the humans get kicked off the planet. Who cares if there is a similarity, people need to stop complaining and just enjoy the movie. mbt uk
