THE PITCH

We are Iskashitaa Refugee Harvesting Network and we volunteer with the refugee population of Tucson, AZ. One of our services is to connect refugees with property owners with fruit trees on their yard, and then we give instructions on proper harvesting methods and provide transportation if needed.

Pretty soon we will be harvesting locally grown dates, but before we do that it is necessary that we raise $200. The money will be used to rent a machine for harvesting, then the refugees can pick the dates from the trees.

Donating money to this cause will benefit you in two ways. First, you will be helping refugees in Tucson harvest healthy food to eat and to sell for an extra income. Second, we will give donors a bag of dates after the harvest.

A North Korean youth football team refused to play a South Korean side in a tournament held in barbour jackets, citing cross-border tension after the death of leader, an official said.
