THE PITCH

We love Muir Glen tomatoes! But after calling the company to inquire about the contents of their cans’ white liner, we were told that it does indeed contain BPA (bisphenol A).

Muir Glen claimed that BPA has been determined to be safe, however this conflicts with the information we’ve all heard regarding BPA, especially in plastics that are subjected to heat.

Consumers that choose organic over conventional typically do so both for quality and also for their health and the health of their families. If there is uncertainty about BPA, why take the risk?

Please join this campaign and hopefully together we can help convince Muir Glen to find an alternative to BPA-lined cans!

What a fantastic irony. Organic food in toxic cans.

Change your cans please, I spend the extra money to buy your organic products only to find out the cans are poisonous?! Until this changes I will be growing my own tomatoes.

On Sundays, I make a pot of sauce. I use my Grandma’s “secret” recipe and 7 CANS of tomatoes in EVERY pot. I am “only one” consumer and that is “only one” recipe in which I use tomatoes. Let’s see…

    52(weeks)x7(cans)=
364 CANS per YEAR in ONE RECIPE by ONE CONSUMER.

There are more recipes where that one came from, thank you, Grandma. SO, since the summer is here, and fresh tomatoes are abundant and cheap, I AM SWITCHING AS I CAN NO LONGER CONSCIOUSLY CONTINUE TO “CONSUMEYOUR PRODUCTS PACKAGED IN BPA CONTAINERS. By the end of the season I will find an REPLACEMENT to YOUR BRAND UNLESS and UNTIL YOU CHANGE YOUR PACKAGING!!!!!!!

    Sincerely,
    A TRUELY DISAPPOINTED SAUCE-MAKER
    PLEASE CHANGE THIS IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!
