Hi all,

This thing tipped quickly, which is good. Now we can all go see Kung Fu Panda. I will place the order for these tickets as soon as the payments clear. They are shipped ground, whatever that means. It cost $8 to “ship” them, which is ridiculous because it is going to just be an envelope, but whatever.

I’ll put a new campaign up soon for the same thing for people who want more or feel like they missed it this time. I encourage others in other areas to do the same, especially if you live in a city where tickets are normally >$10.

AMC has a deal where you get a discount if you order their tickets in bulk. If we can get together enough demand for 50 tickets we can get them for $6 a piece. They never expire and can be used at any AMC in the country, although not for special engagements**.

It is a pretty good deal, especially for those of us who live in cities where movies cost more like $10-12. This campaign is only for Chicago, for people who live or work near enough to me that I can get you tickets. I work in River North and live in Wicker Park and won’t commit to going to far out of my way to help you get tickets you order. If you live somewhere else, start your own campaign—it’s a great deal.

One last thing: The price is $6 a ticket, so 50 tickets comes to $300, but there is a $8 shipping fee (I know, for a book of tickets, ridiculous) 3.5% processing fee for this campaign, so there is an extra $18 we need. When you join you get a ticket for ever $6 you put in, but anything over a multiple of 6 will go towards this fee, so we need a few people to throw in an extra dollar to make this work.
