A session with teeth-whitening pioneers BriteSmile usually costs about $600. If you wait for a sale, you might only pay $350, or $300 once in a blue moon. Today, we’re pleased to bring one of our most popular Chicago deals to San Francisco: teeth whitening for only $185. That's 69% off! We know $185 is a chunk of change, but for what you're getting, nothing comes close. If you've ever considered teeth whitening, get today's Groupon, and head to one of four locations (Union Square, Broadway Plaza Mall in Walnut Creek, Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, Palo Alto)—you'll save hundreds of dollars.

BriteSmile's patented stain-busting technique involves UV technology and fancy lamps that shine gentle blue light all over your teeth to whiten them. As they work, you can go nappy-nap, watch TV, fantasize about future Groupons, or just relax. When the hour's up, your teeth will be in factory-new condition; customers have seen their teeth get up to 14 shades lighter. Your smile will dazzle your boss, significant other(s), prospective job interviewers, and anyone else you want to impress. Already had your teeth whitened? Email friends who need to keep their smile looking good for professional reasons (salespeople, politicians, Marlboro spokespeople, teeth models, etc.) so they move up the ladder.

Aside from the obvious benefits of teeth whitening—professional advancement, increased sex appeal, etc.— there are lesser-known practical pluses. For example, if you and your partner each get a treatment, you'll not only look better for each other, but you can use each other's teeth as mirrors when you need to comb your eyebrows on the go. If you ever lose a post-whitened tooth, you can find an African ivory poacher and trade it for pure gold. This Groupon also makes an excellent gift for a loved one with disgusting teeth. If you've been slacking on maintaining your basset hound's dental hygiene, make up for it by giving him the gift of teeth whitening: he’ll be happy anyway and you can attribute his joy to your generosity.

Don't be fooled by laser-whitening treatments you see listed for $199. They won't get your teeth nearly as white as BriteSmile (eight shades vs. BriteSmile's 10–14 shades) nor will they last as long (six months vs. BriteSmile's one–two YEARS). Those are scams run by evil doctors who live for the thrill of shooting unsuspecting patients in the mouth with real lasers! A manicure might last you a week. A wax? Maybe two. But a BriteSmile teeth-whitening treatment will take you well past the year Back to the Future 2 was supposed to take place. Get your Groupon!

Note: Don't forget to mention your Groupon number when booking your appointment.

Yelpers give the Union Square BriteSmile location three stars. Here's what people are saying through their whiter teeth:

  • If you are impatient, or just don't have the discipline to apply whitener every night for two years, I highly recommend a visit. They say the treatment lasts for 3 or 4 years. Its painless and it works. – Johnny O.
  • I love my new pearly whites! – A P.
  • If you want to return your teeth to their former state or close to it before you found out about coffee, tea, smoking, wine, and you want to have this done in the least amount of time possible, then I'm glad to tell ya that BriteSmile does work very well for badly stained or discolored choppers. – Jennifer P.

  • Note that at BriteSmile your treatment is being done by untrained “techs” who will just hand you the whitening supplies because they’re legally not allowed to treat you. You’re paying a premium for the equivalent of Crest Whitening Strips ($25).

Note that you can have actual professionals whiten your teeth for exactly the same cost at either of the dental schools in San Francisco, and get custom trays out of the deal.

Groupon, you guys rock but supporting these quacks is a total miss.

  • Thanks for the notes Ryan! What dental schools are you talking about?

  • Mandisa Dowsey

    I really wish I could buy this…sigh!
I missed this deal when it was in Chicago…PLEASE bring it back!!!!!!!!!

The above Facebook User is having a serious attack of ‘sour grapes’. My girlfriend had this done and at age 57 her smile whitened incredibly. This treatment is not done with whitening goo and trays. . . it’s done with a laser light. I’ve bought this Groupon & can’t wait to get mine done, eat your heart out!

  • Stanislava – The SF dental schools are UCSF and University of the Pacific. I know Pacific has a whitening clinic for sure with Zoom 2 whitening that offers night appointments (6pm – 9pm).

Barbara – No sour grapes, just trying to help the average groupon user. “Laser” bleaching alone is documented to have very little in the way of staying power, as the “laser” (actually an LED) does little more than dehydrate the teeth, which temporarily whitens them. The best way to permanently remove chromophores (stain molecules) from teeth is with custom fabricated trays and chemical whiteners. This is research established, no advertising, no axes to grind, just pure hard science.

Take it for what you will.
