Before teeth-whitening techniques were in vogue, victims of stained teeth had to either endure embarrassment or hide their shame using a variety of inconvenient concealing methods:
- Elaborate paper-mâché disguises
- Mustaches combed downward or chest hair combed upward
- Removal of offending teeth
- Shaquille O'Neal masks
- Sock in mouth
- Pancake in mouth
- Ice Grillz
Fortunately it's safe to put your mouth-covering devices in storage because you can get 69% off state-of-the-art teeth whitening at BriteSmile with today's Groupon.

Back by popular demand: make your pearly whites 10–14 shades pearly whiter for hundreds less. With today's Groupon, $185 gets your teeth professionally whitened at the national whitening pioneer BriteSmile, located at 75 Newbury St. That's $415 off the normal price. If you've been considering teeth whitening, there's no better time to dive in and reap the benefits of radiant teeth (mouth replaces flashlight on camping trips, blind potential muggers with smile, etc.).
The BriteSmile stain-removal process is simple: while you sleep, watch TV, or just relax, BriteSmile's dedicated staff combines UV technology and blue-light lamps to brighten your teeth by removing years of soda and coffee stains. After one hour, BriteSmilers have seen their teeth get up to 14 shades lighter. With more than 1.4 million satisfied customers across the country, a review by The Journal of the American Dental Association, and a BriteSmile guarantee, there's nothing to lose except that humiliating feeling of smiling with less-than-bright teeth.

Check the reviews on Yelp.com for this place-they don’t look good.

Jan O'Keefe replied on Jul 9, 2009I am not familiar with Yelp ( probably too old), but my husband and I purchased this groupon on the first go round in April and were very happy. The price cannot be beat. The DMD is terrific!

Maggie St. Germain replied on Jul 9, 2009I went to the Newbury Street location in May. The counter people were a little snotty, but I really didn’t care. If they feel “powerful” acting as tho I was entering an exclusive club, that’s their trip. I was there for good results at a great price. The attending dentist was professional and polite. The technician that applied the gel and the light was efficient and cordial. My teeth lightened 7 shades, and it was cool to see all the red wine, black coffee and cigarettes of my 20s and 30s depart in an hour.
They will try to sell you products afterwards, and are rather pushy: I did purchase the bleaching gel pens, which are very portable and convenient. Don’t even hope for a parking spot on Newbury—I did the valet parking at the mall across the street. Cost: $20, and they don’t accept tips (!). Time, gas, and aggravation saved: priceless. As for Yelp—I do check w/it, but pls keep in mind that some folks hold their opinion in extremely high esteem.

Jude Griffin replied on Jul 9, 2009Yikes, didn’t think to check reviews since this was so hugely popular last time and there was such demand for another round.
I’m in for two. Ack.

joanne pritts replied on Jul 9, 2009I have a cap on one of my teeth, right front and was always told I couldn’t have my teeth whitened because of this. Come to find out it holds stains after a couple of years just like the rest of your teeth. So in the fall while Christmas shopping in the Emerald square Mall I had mine done at Smile Bright. The price was only $100 and it only took 20 minutes (nice break to relax a few minutes), then I continued with my shopping. It brought my teeth about 6 shades whiter removing years of smoking, coffee and red wine. I was so happy with the results that last month I was shopping in the Natick Collection and came accross one in there and had it done again and they came even whiter. I would definately go there with the difference in price, convenience and the girls at both places were very professional and friendly. It would be great if they offered a Groupn….I would buy one or two even for gifts!

Natalia Laskaris replied on Jul 9, 2009I also signed up for it before I read the reviews and ended up canceling (which you can do before the end of the day). The reviews really scared me – wish everyone the best of luck!

Jude Griffin replied on Jul 10, 2009I would like to cancel too, but cannot find out how to do so. I have been through the site multiple times without finding a word on the cancellation policy. I feel like an idiot asking to cancel but those reviews were really scary.

Jennifer Clemens-Fox replied on Jul 10, 2009Jude- Go back to the page where it was confirmed, there is a button that says “Change my order” or something similar. From there at the bottom of the page there is an option to cancel, but it has to be tonight.
I bought it, but after those Yelp Reviews I backed out. It’s still expensive and it just makes me nervous. My teeth aren’t so horrible, I’ll just use a home-kit or something.
