PayPal just scammed my company $11,002.38!!! I can’t get into the details until court is over, but basically they took back money on three legit sales from a loyal long time customer that decided to go bad and said the funding source was fraudulent and they are taking the money back to recoup their losses for the betterment of PayPal. I have no problem seeking some venture capital to create a competing auction and payment site… I got the background to see it through and manage the whole thing. If I lose and don’t get my money I will be moving forward on it.

  • Hi everyone.

The next planned boycott of ebay is scheduled for May 1st and runs the whole month of May.

This means NO Selling, NO Listing. I know that many people rely on their sales thru ebay to support their families and I do understand this can not be done by everyone, but for those of you who do rely on ebay for your livlihood, please consider listing at other venues.

There are many free and low cost venues out there that are starting to get larger because of ebay refugees.

I have stated that if you want to know what some of these venues are, go to http//www.powersellersunite.com or www.kenzy.com.

Also, read thru the forums to get an idea of each auction site you are interested in.

The situation with ebay, imho, will only get worse.

Thanks for your time and good luck to all of you….Mere

  • Hello all.

Just wanted to post a link here for the recent seller surbey being done by ebaY.

    http://tinyurl.com/25fpu2

Just copy and paste into your browser and fill the survey out.

It might be a good idea if we rolled the members of this boycott into the one that is listed with Mrskillion on the ebay threads, under seller central thread.

Post your comments after you have filled the survey out and your idea of merging into the boycott found on the seller central thread at ebaY.

Have a nice weekend and don’t eat too many goodies on Easter……Mere

  • Meridith, I finally found the seller forum, but I have looked at every title of the first 3 pages 3x now and cannot find a survey. What is it under?

  • Never mind, I think I may have found it.

  • PayPal (also an ebay co.) is even worse. That’s why I started my own Campaign – PayPal ULTIMATUM. Please join in my campaign as well! https://www.thepoint.com/campaigns/pay-pal-ulti…

  • MEREDITH i have to agree with you this is not the place to argue, although julie, who posted my meassage on ebay for all to see was not the brightist idear, i contacted julie after she brought back to the forefront my meassage on the point, with regard to surporting her and offering any help to her i could, over the nasty bit of work called sd strikebreaker, even being told what my posting id,is on ebay, and the fact that i was envolved on the thread surporting her, under my posting id,she posted my meassage! not only did this cause much embarrassment for me,she also posted my details, and let the antagonists know who and what, the point is,and who is a member there,i think kk bringing this matter to the attention of other members on the point is a lesson well learnt for every one on here, and maybe julie above all will hang fire, till shes sure who is who, regards Barry

  • I have already taken action. I stopped selling and have now lost my PowerSeller status because of it. I will not list again on eBay as long as this madness continues.

  • eBay introduces absolute anonymity for (shill) bidders

In Australia and the UK (at the least) eBay has now obscured auction bidding to the point that genuine bidders have got absolutely no chance of detecting and thereby protecting themselves from “shill” bidding (a criminal offence in most civilised countries) by unethical vendors. Notwithstanding eBay’s statements to the contrary, this application of absolute anonymity by eBay serves no purpose other than to deceive consumers; and the same criticism has always applied to eBay’s other facility, “User ID kept private” (aka “the shill bidders’ stairway to paradise”). Again, notwithstanding eBay’s various pronouncements about shill bidding being banned on eBay, eBay is now knowingly “aiding and abetting” such shill bidders, at the expense of consumers …

A lengthy detailed critical analysis of this matter at:
    http://www.auctionbytes.com/forum/phpBB/viewtop…

I apologise in advance for the length of the above-linked comment. If you are an unethical shill-bidding seller or a buyer who lives in Australia, the UK, Ireland or the Philippines and you are not concerned that, on these sites, eBay is effectively (and knowingly) “aiding and abetting” such shill-bidding sellers to cheat you, read no further.
