  • The final Ebay…make my head explode…decision,
was the 12% final value fees.
I went with it for 1 month.
The unlimited quantities, was intriguing, and the 30 day deal was creative…until I discovered, the buyers, still wait until the last possible second.
My items sat there with 24 ‘lookers’ until the 11th hour.
That meant, I sat there, with NO INCOME, for 30 days.

THEN the final duct-tape moment came.
    I got an e-check. PayPal.
    That was on Oct. 20th.
All hell broke loose (at PayPal) an Ebay company, and to this day, I can’t get my money.

    Ebay calls it a ‘glitch’.
But, they sent me an invoice.
When I said they have ALL my sales locked up in this ‘glitch’.
Well, gee whiz, knock me down and slap my face….I still owe them some money.
I guess it’s my problem to figure out how to get them paid.

    EBID is for me.

  • I bailed on Ebay for Ebid.net this week and am slowly transferring items from Ebay. Ebay is a disaster.

Like all of you. I’ve had it with ‘feeBay’ as well. This Paypal thing broke my loyalty—- and killed my trickling cashflow. 8 years, 7300 feedback and a 99.7%+ rating and they shaft all of us with this Paypal only thing. It’s a frigging nightmare to deal with, and total lunacy in a cratering economy, not only for the small seller like me in the $1 to $25 range, but BUYERS, many long time buyers after things for collections and such have emailed me and said so long because they will not expose their banknig information just to buy small things to Paypal. You sell on Ebay then Paypal takes the fees on the sale— its double-dipping. And worse, no flexible payment options- credit card/paypal as the economy is collapsing. Ebay’s CEO is a jerk.

I signed up for Ebid.net this month and frankly, once you get the hang of it, it’s a much more friendly atmosphere and the fees for all much more manageable. If you’ve had it with Ebay, go to Ebid.net and rediscover what Ebay was like when it first began.

My last straw was “No PayPal, no list”. After 5 years and thousands in fees, al of a sudden, I’m not wanted? Lost prospective sales because of that. No PP, serious problems in the past. Of course, they own PP, so the got ya coming & going. Final was jerk who KNEW I don’t do PP, demanded I sign up just so he could buy my item. He sent me an email, that in real life would’ve put him in jail! I sent a counter complaint to eBay. They decided to do nothing. And this prick is still putting ‘poison ink’ comments on ebay. Plus too many ‘buyers’ telling me how they want the auction run! Also those morons who win, w/out any intention of paying and piss the seller off just for laughs. Then there’s the ‘switchers’. These thieves have a broken item at home. They win your identical item, claim the PO damaged it. You give a refund, and they return thier broken one, AND keep your good item! I was marking everything. No matter how bad a record these dishonest buyers had, eBay still let them on and refused to do anything. As long as ebay keeps getting their exhorbitant fees, they’ll never drop a customer. I am glad to see, here I’m not the only ‘anti-eBay’ person around. I now use Craigs. It is more rewarding to deal face to face, and I’ve made 2 new friends! Thank you for letting me vent my anger.

  • Hey Everyone,
You are all SO RIGHT !
12% commission for sales that are in the dumper.
PayPal fees on top of it all?
Ebay is telling some sellers how much to charge for shipping????
    Ebay never shipped anything.
    What do they know.
USPS has a minimum of $4.60 on priority.
    $7.60 for a medium box.
If you don’t get it there overnight, their stupid buyers can leave neg. FB.
But, if a buyer jacks you around, waits 2 weeks to pay, and then provides a bad address?
    Can the seller leave negatives?
    NO!
Ebay doesn’t seem to know where their over inflated money comes from.
    It ain’t the buyer babe.
    It’s the SELLER.
The seller pays the 35 cent listing fee, the 12% commission, the 30 cent paypal fee and the 2.9% PayPal commission.
In my catagory, I have foiund idiots who sell so low, it costs them money to sell their item.
How am I supposed to compete with idiots like this?
    Ebay’s answer?
    Wait until they go broke.

Fun way to look at business,
    Val
