I have 11 people who have joined by campaign, which means 989 more to go! Right?
So if possible please feel free to “share” this campaign with others who you feel would be interested.
If we want a change, we must spread the word! So please help spread the word, so that this movement can meet its first order of business.
Thank You.

And I ran across a recent court case settlement; Wiwa v. Shell in June 8, 2009.
Website: “http://ccrjustice.org/newsroom/press-releases/settlement-reached-human-rights-cases-against-royal-dutch/shell”
This case involves the torture and murders of The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni people (MOSOP) &leader Ken Saro-Wiwa in the mid-90’s.
The settlement involves $15.5 million to the relatives of the deceased victims and covering court costs for the plaintiffs.
But what about the Ogoni people? This whole tribe of people has suffered for decades.
When the question came up, the responses was that a trust fund called Kiisi Trust would be created for the people was given. Kiisi meaning progress in their language is a trust that will permit the enterprise of educational institutions, the advancement of skill and agricultural training, adult education, etc.
Even though the payment of $15.5 million doesn’t cover the pain, suffering, hunger and mental anguish of the Ogoni people it does show that any company no matter how huge its financial influence can be shown that it does not have the authority to cause acts against standard human rights. & through this settlement hopefully the Kiisi Trust can become successful.
My last opinion on the settlement would be that all responsible for the assassinations of Mr.Saro-Wiwa and the members of MOSOP should be prosecuted correctly through the court systems. This type of justice would show that corporate corruption can not be tolerated. Especially when murder and mayhem is involved.

“Aid creates the wrong incentives, he argues. It makes objects of the poor, passive recipients of charity rather than active participants in their own economic betterment. Africans don’t need handouts, they need better institutions, land reform and access to cheap mortgages.” -Dr.Andrew Mwenda – Ugandan journalist and broadcaster

Major oil company, Shell, admits to fueling conflict, poverty, and corruption in Nigeria. Nigeria is rich in fossil fuels, so western organizations capitalize off these natural resources. This exploitation has lead to a vast majority of Nigerians to live in poverty. The profits from the oil are used in London to invest in things such as homes and the up scaling of urban life. While in Nigeria, the money is used to support militias and in turn these armed men support western organizations’ criminal activities. So not only are Nigerians living in poverty, but they also live in fear.

I have been slacking on getting this campaign really up & running.
I’m back & I’m trying to get people to join this movement. I call it a movement because this is only one step in accomplishing our goal in helping to change the government policies in certain countries in Africa that cause their own people to starve everyday.
But Thank You those who have joined this cause.
