THE PITCH

We’ve got a Christmas challenge for you. Edurelief is trying to raise $25,000 by December 25, 2008. We’re looking for 25 people to help us make that happen, each raising at least $1,000. These funds will help us start at least a dozen school libraries in Mongolia, helping roughly 5,000 children receive the education they need. Why would you want to help us? Well, first it’s motivating in itself to think of helping 5,000 kids. But we’ve got something in it for you too, think of it as a Christmas present from us for your help.

We’ve got 25 iPods nanos to give away. Not your older fatso nanos, but 25 of the brand new ones that were just announced by Apple three days ago. Meet your $1,000 goal and you’ll find a shiny new nano in your mailbox around Christmas time.

Think of it as a way to give some kids their best Christmas ever, and receive our thanks in return.

We’ll use the funds to setup libraries schools in Mongolia that will let kids dream, grow, and discover a better future.

Upping it a bit. If your fundraising hits $2,000 we’ll up that iPod Nano to a new iPod Touch.

If you’re going to raise your $1,000 online then we can help. We can set you up with a ChipIn badge that’ll let us set up your $1,000 goal and people’s online donations will come straight to our account.

Then you can post that badge to your blog, Facebook or Myspace profile, send it by email, anything. It’s an incredibly effective way to help you raise your $1,000, help some kids, and get your Christmas present.

For those of you getting questions while fundraising, tax deduction IS available to your donors. If they donate through a widget or through our website then they automatically get a receipt. If you are accepting checks from them just make sure they’re made out to Edurelief and we’ll mail them one when you send in your donations. Cash also works, just note it all down with names and addresses and we’ll make sure those people get their receipts.

Note on personal donations. If you are the fundraiser and donate the $1,000 personally (or part of it). Only amounts after $150 will count as personal tax deduction since you are infact receiving something in return for your work we cannot give fundraisers personal tax deduction for their first $150.

Any questions, please contact me.
